This is a reality for AbbVie Interns. Bioinformatics for Immunology, Genetic and genomic sciences (BIGGS) under the umbrella of Quantitative Medicine and Genomics (QM&G) is seeking a highly talented, creative, and motivated summer intern to analyze cutting-edge spatial transcriptomics and histopathology data. The candidate will work in close collaboration with members of BIGGS and Discovery immunology and will work on advancing our capabilities in spatial data analysis and pipeline development. Key responsibilities include: Test new algorithms on spatial transcriptomics data for accuracy and efficiency. Assist in the expansion and optimization of our spatial data analysis pipeline. Work within an interdisciplinary team to integrate cutting-edge tools and technologies and advance the understanding of disease biology. Contribute easily maintainable, robust, and flexible code for spatial analysis pipelines. Interpret and communicate results to team members and a wider audience of interdisciplinary scientists. Qualifications MinimumQualifications Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field. Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship Expected graduation datebetween December 2026 July 2027 Experience working with spatial transcriptomics required, preferably Xenium Fluent in R and/or Python Fluent in single-cell RNA-seq analysis Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Expertise in immunology is a plus Experience with image analysis is a plus Experience with nextflow and GitHub Additional Information Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state orlocal law: The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Companybelieves ingood faith it will pay for this role at the timeof this posting based on the job grade for this position.Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, andwemay ultimatelypay more or less than the posted range.
