IBM AIOps Technical Sales Specialist in Cambridge , Massachusetts Introduction Today, most organizations are transitioning from a traditional infrastructure of separate, static physical systems to a dynamic mix of on-premises, managed cloud, private cloud, and public cloud environments, running on virtualized or software-defined resources that scale and reconfigure constantly. AIOps Technical Sales Specialists are the technical experts and advisors to clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. As a member of the AIOps Technical Specialist Sales team you understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements, and the competitive landscape. You apply your business insights and your deep subject matter expertise, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. Your Role and Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced AIOps Technical Sales Specialist who will join our team and support US Financial Services customers solve complex challenges in this emerging space. You will work with sales and technical teammates to help identify, progress, and close AIOps opportunities. You will be consultative with customers to understand their business and technical requirements in their IT Operations environment, across areas that include Proactive Issue Avoidance and Resolution, Intelligent Change Risk Management, Cost Optimization, and Application Scaling and Deployment use cases. You will also enable, mentor, and assist Technical professionals to share your knowledge and experience. We are seeking individuals interested in making an impact in selling our strategic set of AIOps solutions including Watson AIOps, Turbonomic, and Instana. You must be self-motivated, driven to win sales opportunities, and ready to interact daily with customers, colleagues, and business partners. Responsibilities Actively develop and progress qualified opportunities for AIOps working with the IBM Sales teams. Act as a deep technical expert in SRE/AIOps opportunities and leverage your experience to make presales engagements successful. Collaborate with other internal IBM teams to drive unmatched customer satisfaction. Maintain an understanding of the client's industry, including industry trends. Collaborate with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions. Support customer technical escalations, on-site health checks, best practice sharing, designing solutions, and answer technical questions throughout the sales process in order to identify/progress/close sales and develop customer relationships. Attributes Demonstrated level of business acumen as it applies to the client's business Skilled in consultative selling, with an understanding of the client's needs and IBM capabilities Commercially minded and capable of supporting end-to-end sales engagements with the ability to think, plan and act strategically Extensive networking and interpersonal skills in complex environments Self-starter with eagerness to seek and build new skills Demonstrated functional competence across the Monitoring landscape Strong understanding of the following verticals: IT Operations, DevOps, SRE, Observability Functional knowledge of Cloud deployments and SaaS offerings Required Technical and Professional Expertise IT Operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Functional understanding and experience working with APM platforms (Instana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.) Functional understanding and experience working with ARM solutions (Turbonomics, ServiceNow, Harness, Azure Management Tools) Technical knowledge of the role of traditional IT Operations (ITOps) Engineers, tools they typically use and pain points they face, e.g., deep experience with logs and log aggregation, Automation (Ansible, Saltstack, Terraform), ChatOps and interoperability with enterprise chat tools, CI/CD pipelines, event management solutions Deep understanding of how a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) approaches Operations to ensure that continuously delivered applications run efficiently and reliably by using software engineering and automation solutions. Ability to assess where the client is on the journey from traditional IT Operations to SRE, and able to articulate and demonstrate the value of IBM AIOps solutions to help them with the transition. Cognitive Data Engineering: Technical experience with solutions in the market (ServiceNow, Splunk, or Watson AIOps). Ability to articulate the value to an IT Operations Engineer without Data-Scientist background Understanding of Data Modeling and Data Models, including training AI models and data normalization Functional understanding of the underlying open source and concepts around Storage, Networking, Security, Trouble Shooting, Management and Performance Tuning Functional understanding and experience working with APM platforms (Instana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.) Functional understanding and experience working with ARM solutions (Turbonomics, ServiceNow, Harness, Azure Management Tools) Technical knowledge of the role of traditional IT Operations (ITOps) Engineers, tools they typically use and pain points they face, e.g., deep experience with logs and log aggregation, Automation (Ansible, Saltstack, Terraform), ChatOps and interoperability with enterprise chat tools, CI/CD pipelines, event management solutions Deep understanding of how a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) approaches Operations to ensure that continuously delivered applications run efficiently and reliably by using software engineering and automation solutions.
