The energy transition, especially electrification, is a key focus; leveraging our expertise in signal processing, machine learning, communication systems, and circuit design to accelerate the transformation of the electrical distribution grid.We seek a highly motivated Principal Research Scientist with experience in developing algorithms, software, and systems for the electrical grid. The candidate will collaborate with our talented research team in a highly interactive environment to achieve this vision. Responsibilities include solving challenging, large-scale problems with potential significant impact on the electrical grid. The ideal candidate will have experience deploying software with novel algorithms to grid OT/IT systems such as ADMS, DERMS, GIS, and FLISR, and a deep understanding of operational constraints.The responsibilities for this position include:

• Creating, analyzing, and implementing novel software, algorithms, and systems for electrification and grid modernization;
• Advancing the state-of-the-art for electrical transmission and distribution grids to enable increased renewable and distributed energy resources adoption;
• Leading prototyping efforts and pilot deployments;
• Collaborating with business and product teams, including hardware development, to integrate requirements, analyze data, and inform hardware design;
• Staying current with research and trends in relevant areas, particularly in the energy sector;
• Navigating ambiguity in early-stage programs and mentoring colleagues.Qualifications:

• PhD + 5 years of industrial or academic experience (or equivalent);
• Strong background in algorithms and systems for transmission or distribution grids;
• Proven deployment of operational products on the electrical grid;
• Intellectual curiosity and a bias for action, with increasing technical responsibility;
