Responsibilities
The Microsystems Integration Group is seeking an engineer for
analysis and metrology of miniaturized electronic systems.
-Applicants must be experienced with standard scanning electron
microscopy (SEM) and focused ion beam (FIB) operation including
surface analysis, energy dispersive X-ray (EDAX), material
etching/deposition, cross sectioning, and transmission electron
microscopy (TEM) sample prep. Additionally, experience with failure
analysis on integrated circuits, plasma FIBs, circuit editing and
hardware automation is preferred. FIB hardware and software
maintenance along with coordination of tool support will also be
required. This includes executing alignments, troubleshooting tool
malfunction and sustaining operational best practices. The engineer
must also be capable of supporting a variety of programs and their
disparate needs under tight timelines. -Experience in a laboratory
environment and excellent communication and analytical skills are
required. Other roles may include optical microscopy, thin film
analysis, process development for vacuum processing and packaging,
and management of prototype fabrication.
The candidate should have a background in electrical, mechanical,
chemical, and/or materials engineering have demonstrated examples
of self-driven efforts in technical areas outside his/her academic
training. In time, this position may evolve to include technology
road mapping, proposal writing, business development, and work with
external collaborators from government, academia, and industry.

Qualifications
--- - - - - - - - - - M.S. or higher degree(s) in Materials
Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics,
etc., and at least 5 years relevant experience.
--- - - - - - - - - - Excellent oral and written communication
skills and proficiency with standard workplace and technical
software such as Matlab.
--- - - - - - - - - - Familiarity with CAD and physical modeling
tools.
- - - - - - - - - - - -Familiarity with python preferred
This position will require the ability to obtain a US Security
Clearance. The primary requirement for a security clearance is US
citizenship.
