Overview









Canon's Boston Incubation Center is currently seeking an experienced Medical Device Senior Catheter Technician (Technician, Catheter IV). The Medical Device Senior Catheter Technician will engage in fabricating, assembling and debugging novel, medical robotic catheters, from initial concept to commercialization. This position will be a part of a project team(s) of talented engineers of various disciplines.

This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.













Responsibilities









- Assemble and test prototype catheters from assembly drawings and verbal directions
- Perform various testing on prototype catheters to ensure their robustness, safety, and functionality
- Test and diagnose malfunctioning catheters using test equipment such as microscopes, instron, hand tools and microvue inspection machine
- Work with engineers to create, fabricate and improve assembly fixtures
- Utilize machine shop equipment to modify prototype mechanical assemblies and fixtures
- Recommend improvements for the assembly processes and catheter design in view of performance, quality and safety
- Build, improve and document custom test equipment, fixtures, and methods
- Maintain good record-keepingof conditions and results of assembly and testing
- Understand and conform to requirements of FDA regulations and the Canon Quality System













Qualifications

- Associates degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- Medical Device/Catheter Prototyping and building
- Solidworks proficiency is preferred
- Manual dexterity to handle sub-millimeter components with precision and care with attention to details
- Ability to work with a microscope
