Working under the direction of the Director of Performance Improvement PI), the Performance Improvement (PI) Consultant is responsible for improving clinical and operational workflows to ensure safe, timely, efficient, effective, equitable, and patient-centered care to our patient population. The program includes consultative PI and project management support to individual clinical service lines for department and service line specific projects intended to improve patient care outcomes as well as a portfolio of larger, more complex, system-wide improvement initiatives. The consultant will be expected to integrate evidence-based decision making with an innovative lens using PI framework and methods to engage stakeholders and drive improvements. The role is supported by a team of consultants with skills ranging from PI expertise, data and quality metric identification and monitoring, patient risk and safety, operations modeling and design and workshop facilitation. This position will be responsible for working with the department and CHA leaders to support projects through project management, data analysis, and implementation using the PI toolkit. Data extraction, analysis and presentation skills are critical for this position. Also required are exceptional organizational skills, including effectively developing internal work and communication processes and systems to facilitate effective collaboration across CHA. Qualifications/Requirements:

At a minimum, a clinical degree or masters degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health care management or related area.Expertise in project management (familiarity with tools like Smartsheet, Trello, or MS Project highly desirable), PI frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, IHI s Model for Improvement, Design thinking and other quality improvement methods is preferred. Certifications: Lean and/or other Quality Improvement training preferred. Essential Skills:
Facilitation of PI projects using PI tools and frameworks.
Background in improvement science, including the use of tools in the PI toolbox such as project charters, process mapping, small test of change through PDSA cycles, use of measurementUnderstanding of the use of data for improvement including the development of metrics, interpretation of data demonstrating change over time, visual display of data for use within the practice environmentData manipulation, analysis, and visualization; metric design
Data evaluation and presentation skills such as use of pivot tables to interpret data, ability to develop statistical process control charts, tree diagrams, trend analysis and descriptive statistics analysis for multiple stakeholders at different levels.Ability and flexibility to learn various data resources and knowledge of various data evaluation strategies is very important.Communication and negotiation with stakeholders from various backgrounds

They work at different locations across CHA but find time to brainstorm and facilitate projects with strategic vision and micro-level tactics. The team works in a fast paced environment leveraging the latest technology.The team promotes diversity, is very patient and staff centric and committed to improving access for patients at CHA.Specific Responsibilities:
Facilitate system-wide PI projects for a broad array of clinical and operational issues. This requires effective project management, including coordination of participants, meetings, documentation, timelines, and reports. Serve as a PI consultant to the assigned service line(s). Manage service line dashboards in collaboration with the analytics team. Support and facilitate service line improvement project(s)Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in clinic workflows to improve population healthSupport CHAs strategic initiatives through PI efforts such as supporting/teaching CHA white and yellow belt classes capacityServe as a PI consultant to the service line and manage the service line dashboards in collaboration with the analytics team. Support and facilitate service line improvement project(s)Conduct data extraction, analysis, synthesis and presentation of data.Develop robust metrics to measure effectiveness of the improvement initiatives.Ensures sustainability of improvements, using metrics effectively to monitor continued adherence to new practices and procedures Prepare meeting materials and present on progress with key stakeholdersDevelop innovative solutions and support their implementationDevelop and support PI communication strategies
