Position includes a $1,000 sign on bonus and a payrate of $20-21 an hour. We are seeking an Animal Care Technician 1 for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Cambridge, MA. In the Animal Care Technician 1 role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to monitor, observe, and record animal health and welfare daily, as well as complete various standard animal husbandry duties primarily with rodents. You will follow all procedures to maintain housing areas, including cleaning, providing animal housing and associated materials/equipment needed with assigned animal rooms. Observe and record facility environmental conditions to ensure they are meeting standards. You may also be tasked with receiving, inspecting, and putting away incoming animals, receiving goods, inventory management and stocking supplies. You will also work cooperatively with the on-site veterinarian staff and provide support in animal health monitoring and basic veterinary medical treatments. You will be responsible for observing and reporting on the status of the animals health, food and water consumption, appearance and behavior. The work schedule is Tuesday - Saturday. Job Qualifications Education:High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal or life sciences field preferred. Experience: One year related husbandry experience. Experience in animal husbandry, in a laboratory animal care setting preferred. Certification/Licensure: Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification from AALAS preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
