Agios has two approved oncology precision medicines and multiple first-in-class investigational therapies in clinical and/or preclinical development. Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Sr. Manager / Associate Director, Commercial Supply Chain Management to join our growing Commercial Supply Chain Team team. The Sr. Manager / Associate Director, Commercial Supply Chain Management will be the Commercial Supply Chain Project Lead for our Mitapivat program. Agios outsources all cGMP manufacturing activities to Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) to support all Clinical and Commercial production. This role will be responsible for end to end commercial supply manufacturing operations. The selected individual will also have a large role in the Global Commercial Supply Launch of our Mitapivat program to treat PK Deficiency. This highly visible role is expected to engage with all aspects of the Agios Organization Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross functional teams that includes CMC, QA, QC and Regulatory to execute all cGMP activities for end to end Commercial Supply Chain Operations for the Mitapivat Program
• Manage external CMOs and working teams to execute all approved manufacturing supply plans to ensure on time and in full delivery
• Participate in the S&OP Process by representing and leading commercial operational activities
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning and Technical Operation teams to establish strategic commercial manufacturing plans, commercial batch sizes, lead times, inventory policies, capacity constraints and risk mitigation strategies.
• Oversee external CDMO partners to monitor KPI, participate in Quality Business Reviews (QBRs) and resolve & escalate issues to facilitate and maintain strong business relationships
• Collaborate with Finance and Cost accounting team to ensure proper inventory accounting financial reporting
• Manage Assigned Commercial Operations to approved budget
• Implement continuous improvements to existing commercial production processes while maintaining Global Inventory management policies to ensure continuity of supply across multiple markets
• Degree in Business, Supply Chain/Material Management, Engineering, or life science field
• 7-10 years' experience for Sr. Manager and minimum 10 years' experience for Associate Director in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry.
• Familiarity of global regulatory requirements and ability to assess impacts on commercial and clinical supply chains
• Ability to travel 25% for production and supplier oversite in a post pandemic environment
• Must be detail focused with an ability to drive or influence suppliers and projects with minimal oversight yet work collaboratively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience Managing multiple CMOs across all steps in Commercial Supply Chain
  • Experience with small molecule cGMP Manufacturing.
  • Prior experience with ERP and Inventory Panning tools
  • Experience leading supply of new product launches
  • Experience with ex-US product supply and regulatory requirements including EU and Asia Pacific Markets
