self-motivated principal level systems engineer to lead the
development of system architectures in our model-based systems
engineering practice. - Using sound systems engineering practice
and architectural modeling tools, such as MagicDraw, as well as
physics-based models, we design first-of-a-kind complex systems
that integrate advanced technologies to solve challenging problems
in the national interest and maximizing stakeholder value. To
effectively address these challenges, the ideal candidate would be
knowledgeable in various problem domains including NC3, hypersonic
and conventional defense and space systems. Successful candidates
will be fluent in multiple technical domains, advanced system
modeling and analysis techniques such as multi-domain qualitative
models. You will be comfortable presenting results that support
system-level analysis, performance trade-offs, and decision-making
to external customer decision makers. We are seeking candidates who
can help advance Draper's model based systems engineering practice
through strategy formulation, mentoring, and capability roadmap
development.
Typical job duties include designing and developing system
architecture using SysML and simulations for complex systems. - In
addition, the candidate will work as a member of a cross-functional
engineering team to frame architectures addressing challenges of
customers in military, space, intelligence, and commercial
applications. Responsibilities will also include mentoring and
assisting others in learning SysML and ensuring use of
state-of-the-art practices in system model development processes
and methods.
Communications and interpersonal skills are highly valued in this
role. - The ability to communicate technical concepts effectively
with customers, engineers, managers, and other stakeholders of all
relevant disciplines is a must. - Flexibility to multi-task and
adapt to evolving priorities will be required. - We value
continuous learning and professional growth. - Include a cover
letter to describe your particular interest in this position.

structure to highly complex and ambiguously defined tasks is
needed.
- Ability to set the technical direction and lead multidisciplinary
teams is needed.
- 15 or more years of experience in systems engineering and
significant expertise in systems architecting using model-based
engineering processes and tools
-Shape and lead the analysis of requirements in a collaborative
multidisciplinary environment including stakeholders and external
partners.
-Define and implement systems architecture strategy and best
practices roadmap
- Lead in the translation of requirements into technical and
architectural decisions.
- Demonstrated expertise using SysML
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
