Principal Software Engineer, Quality page is loaded Principal Software Engineer, Quality Apply locations Cambridge, Massachusetts Digital time type Full time posted on Posted 3 Days Ago job requisition id R11558 The Role Moderna is seeking a Principal Software Engineer who will be responsible for working to deliver software solutions as part of a scrum team to support Modernas clinical development and manufacturing operations, including Personalized mRNA Cancer Vaccine (PCV) . In this role, you will work directly with users to understand requirements and then work with your team to design, develop, deploy, and maintain custom software solutions. The Clinical Informatics team is expanding a suite of custom applications focused on clinical trial design digitization to enable end to end forecasting + execution capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work with our Data Science & AI team to integrate their algorithms into production applications used by Moderna internally to model, plan, optimize, and execute our clinical trial pipeline in order to accelerate humanitys access to new mRNA medicines. Here's What You'll Do

• Work closely with product owners to understand business needs and design solutions.
• Develop innovative and intuitive full-stack TypeScript/JavaScript web applications as part of a team to transform business processes.
• Lead and drive quality engineering best practices and test strategies across multiple scrum teams.
• Work to enhance the automation of load testing, performance testing, unit testing, API testing, etc.
• Deploy and improve applications in a constantly evolving Cloud environment.
• Monitor and analyze application performance, resilience, and quality.
• Contribute to many different projects in a dynamic, fast-moving, agile environment. Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 8 years of experience or MS with 5 years of experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with modern full-stack web application development.
  • Experience using Github/Bitbucket Pull Requests.
  • Experience creating beautiful UIs using HTML, CSS/SASS/etc., and modern JS libraries
  • Experience with Angular -10.
  • Experience designing and testing RESTful HTTP APIs
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Experience using modern ORMs to query relational databases.
  • Experience with relational database models and writing SQL; preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Experience writing unit tests, component tests, and end-to-end tests; preferably Jest and Cypress.
  • Experience using AWS Cloud resources; e.g. S3, SNS/SQS, ElastiCache, etc.
  • Experience with the Agile operational practices.
  • Experience documenting technical systems and user workflows.
  • Experience communicating with application users to understand and collect their requirements and requests. Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
    • Experience working in Life Sciences, pharma/biotech, or related scientific field.
    • Experience in healthcare technology software development.
    • Experience leading SDETs.
    • Experience with containerization systems; preferably Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Experience with GxP, GAMP5, ISO, SOC2, or HITRUST
    • Expert knowledge in integrating automation frameworks into the CI/CD pipeline.
