found at the bottom of this posting. PROGRAM (RPP) OFFICER ,
Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Office , to function as an
integral member of a multidisciplinary EHS office, providing expert
radiation protection advice with due consideration of occupational
health laws, federal and state regulations, and good practices.
Will assist with managing the RPP Program and provide advice on
research and operations, building projects, and experiments
relative to their safety concerns. May be assigned to other
programs. Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in
EHS-related discipline, e.g., health physics, physics, or nuclear
engineering; four years' relevant experience in radiation
protection and EHS programs and recognition, evaluation, and
control of hazardous materials and conditions and physical agents;
expertise in radiation protection programs and expert-level
knowledge of regulations--depending on the discipline--specific to
federal, state, local, and consensus standards for the protection
of property and life and occupational health and safety (including
NRC, CDC and NIH guidelines, OSHA, EPA, DOT, Massachusetts DPH and
DEP, Massachusetts fire prevention regulations, and OSHA
regulations) and specific EHS expertise; leadership skills; ability
to develop and implement well-integrated EHS programs; excellent
oral and written communication skills; and basic computer and
database skills. Knowledge of comprehensive radiological programs
needed, including radiological effluent programs; offsite dose
calculation methodologies; environmental monitoring; radiological
analysis, including gamma spectroscopy, low-level alpha/beta
proportional counting, and liquid scintillation; electronic
dosimetry systems; waste management; radioactive material shipping
procedures; air sampling and analysis; radiation protection
instrumentation calibration, maintenance, and repair; development
of radiation worker training programs; respiratory protection
programs in a nuclear environment; and/or external and internal
dosimetry programs or the ability to learn such programmatic
elements quickly. PREFERRED : master's degree and knowledge of
reactor environments/systems. Job #22332-9 Must be able to pass a
