Job Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Work Shift: Day (United States of America) The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Marketing and Communications, is a senior leader overseeing the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies in support of the business goals of assigned client(s), which may include BILH's community hospitals, business units and/or system departments/services. The AVP manages a team of directors who serve as the primary liaisons between the executive, operational and clinical leaders of their respective clients and the broader Marketing & Communications Department. The AVP also serves as the primary liaison between a client or clients and the Marketing & Communications Department.

The AVP is instrumental in ensuring connectivity and communication among his/her/their direct reports, and with subject matter experts Centers of Expertise (COEs) across BILH Marketing and Communications to achieve strategic alignment, capitalize on system efficiencies, and advance marketing and communications best practices within the organization.

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, this individual ensures support of client business goals through his/her/their team's understanding of client priorities and the development of business cases and/or related integrated marketing and communications plans to use a variety of channels to engage with target audiences. The AVP ensures team's collaboration with colleagues across Centers of Expertise (COEs) within the BILH Marketing and Communications Department to develop and implement plan components and support routine programs. This individual maintains a comprehensive understanding of clients' organizational cultures, business strategies, clinical service offerings, operations, competitive landscape and financial performance to ensure direct reports' roles in the advancement of client goals through effective marketing and communications strategies. Job Description: 1. Ensures team's successful building and maintaining of strategic relationships with clients' administrative and clinical leadership. 2. Ensures directors' attendance and participation in appropriate senior leadership meetings, as well as consultation and guidance to inform marketing and communications priority-setting and decision-making. 3. Coaches and mentors direct reports in the identification of business challenges and opportunities for marketing and communications support based on organizational culture, priorities, clinical service offerings, competitive positioning research and financial performance. 4. Oversees directors' successful development and implementation of strategic marketing and communications plans in support of client's business priorities, in collaboration with other departments as appropriate (e.g. Strategic Planning, Finance, Human Resources, etc.). 5. Applies broad and deep knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and tactics, ensures team members' support clients' business objectives through productive engagement with subject-matter experts in the Marketing and Communications Department's Centers of Expertise (Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing, Marketing Research, Branding, Consumer Engagement, Media Relations and Internal Communications) 6. Ensures the development and presentation of performance analysis and reporting for marketing and communications campaigns to senior leadership. Conducts regular check-in meetings with client leadership to ensure Marketing and Communications to identify opportunities for process improvement. 7. Oversees the marketing and communications teams' timely support of client needs. 8. Provides guidance and direction to activities performed by departmental staff in support of the client's business. 9. Allocates and manages budgets. 10. Direct Reports: 4+ / Indirect Reports: 0. Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications, Business Administration, or other related field required. Master's degree strongly preferred.

  • 15+ years of communications experience required.
  • 7+ years of health care experience required. 10+ years preferred.
  • 10+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred. Experience managing marketing and communications resources (budgets staff, etc.) and how they are best deployed.
