Leads Discovery & Optimization (LDO) is a diverse group of
scientists and engineers, providing critical assay information to
therapeutic research centers (TRCs) throughout research and early
development (R&ED). - We are seeking a highly motivated and
innovative co-op student to join the Proteomics group within LDO.
Team supports programs across the all TRCs as well as translational
medicine with proteomics study, and also develops new proteomics
platforms to tackle challenging scientific questions.
The co-op will closely work with a senior scientist to develop and
apply cutting-edge chemical proteomics methodology in the early
stage discovery pipeline. The co-op will benefit from
state-of-the-art proteomics laboratories at our Cambridge site and
have extensive laboratory experiences in proteomics sample
preparation both manually and with automated platform, chemical
biology, instrumentation and proteomics data analysis. The co-op
will have the opportunity to participate in departmental and
project team meetings to gain valuabole insights into drug
discovery and development process, and interact with individuals
with a range of scientific and pharmaceutical leadership
backgrounds. We highly encourage students from all backgrounds to

Leanr and perform general proteomics experiments including sample
preparation, data acquisition and data analysis.
Contribute to design and development of -chemical proteomics
platform for early stage program application.
Analyze experimental data and present findings to the team.
Maintain documentation of experiments in an electronic lab
Gain background knowledge of the assigned project by reading
Qualifications & Experience
Junior or Senior undergraduate/master/Ph.D. students enrolled in a
full-time university program which includes or approves a six month
co-op experience at BMS, and in a technically-relevant field, such
as Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, etc.
Candidates should have basic laboratory skills (lab course,
academic lab or industry lab).
Candidates should have strong communication skills (written and
verbal) and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Basic understanding and hands on experiences with analytical
chemistry (HPLC, LC-MS etc.) is a plus.
