DaCapo Brainscience (www.dacapobrain.com) is built to create revolutionary, disease-modifying therapeutics for neurological diseases. We are fusing our unique understanding of biological systems, our induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based neuronal culture systems, our proprietary analyses of patient databases, and our pioneering AI/ML algorithms to create an integrated platform for disease-definition and target discovery. With this platform, we can identify novel molecular subtypes of disease and corresponding drug targets for neurodegenerative diseases. DaCapo's scientific co-founders are Vikram Khurana Ph.D., M.D., Jian Peng Ph.D., and Lorenz Studer M.D..
Position Overview:
DaCapo Brainscience is seeking a talented and versatile scientist to help advance our novel artificial intelligence (AI)-driven personalized medicine program for neurodegenerative diseases. This position is responsible for validating and importing the DaCapo founders' unique and groundbreaking iPSC technology. The position will be laboratory-based and requires strong experimental skills in induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture and central nervous system (CNS) cell-type differentiation.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain iPSC (or human embryonic stem cells) and differentiate them into central nervous system cell types such as neurons, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes and microglia. - Perform quality control measures for stem cells and differentiated cells. - Support characterization and assay development of differentiated central nervous system cells.
Experience and skills required:

  • B.S. or M.S. in biology or a related field. A minimum of 2 years' experience working full-time in a research laboratory (academic or industry setting) is required.
  • Proficiency in stem-cell culture is required
  • Basic molecular and cell-based wetlab technqiues (Western blot, qPCR, immunofluorescent staining) are desirable.
  • Familiarity with CNS cell type culture techniques is also highly desirable.
  • Highly versatile and team-based mindset with good interpersonal skills are essential.
