In this role, you will provide essential support for Draper's critical IT infrastructure, applications, and core services hosted on RedHat Linux systems. You will ensure continuous and optimized operation and provisioning of IT systems, focusing on product and technology areas like bare metal, cloud and virtualized hosts, base operating system, authentication and authorization, and enterprise-level systems management and monitoring. You will respond to and resolve incidents and alerts, fulfill service and change request tickets, and assist in process improvement, documentation, and automation. Due to the nature of this work, this job requires on-site presence in Cambridge, MA. Flexible hours and/or schedule will be determined between the employee and hiring manger. Responsibilities

Collaborate daily with Enterprise Linux team members and other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requestsFollow company policies and processes while completing technical tasks and implementing technical solutionsMaintain and improve the computer resources while ensuring server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (DFARS, RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework)Support fast-paced, critical classified programs execution with classified information system capabilitiesParticipate in a support model around deployment, maintenance, monitoring, response, and capacity planning for business-critical systems and infrastructureProvide on-call coverage during working hours as part of a rotation, as well as periodic rostered after hours and weekend on-call supportIdentify, document, and assist in the automation of procedures and processesAdvance IT service catalog through use of new technologies and streamlining existing services


Ability to commute to Draper's Cambridge headquarters.Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOD Top Secret security clearance. 0-2 years' experience in RedHat Linux system administration, supporting production systems and core utility services in a complex enterprise environment0-2 years' experience developing scripts and automating tasks with shell and scripting languages like Bash, Perl, Python and Ansible playbooks Desired:
Existing Secret or Top Secret clearance.Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.Understanding of and professional experience with multiple system administration areas, including operating system, virtualization, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), clusters, storage, monitoring, configuration systems management, high availability, backup, and recoveryDemonstrable experience technically leading projects and coordinating the efforts of others in the team.Ability to work with minimal supervision and balance competing priorities like requests, production support incidents, change requests, scheduled maintenance, and project work.Positive approach with customers; ability to cooperate and communicate well within the global team.Familiarity with ITSM methodology, including incident and change management.Solid ethics and computer security practices (this position will include handling confidential company data).Working knowledge of RedHat Satellite Server, Flexera License Server, and Ubuntu Linux OS.RedHat certifications, especially RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE).** Draper has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all Draper employees.
