General Summary/OverviewPartnerships in Education and Resilience (PEAR) connects educational innovation, youth development, and child and adolescent mental health, bridging research and practice so that young people learn, dream, and thrive. As recognized thought leaders in social and emotional development, we work with schools and school districts throughout the United States, national youth-serving organizations, funders, and innovators in informal learning and STEM fields.Now is a moment of both great need and opportunity for young people: mental health issues and disengagement in learning have grown during the COVID-19 pandemic and with ongoing racism, race-based violence, inequality, and social division. At the same time, there is unprecedented awareness of the implications of social and emotional wellbeing on learning and engagement.At PEAR we understand that true engagement includes a focus on relevance toward students' lives and methods that increase voice, curiosity, leadership, and skill acquisition. Building on our decades of research and translational work, PEAR creates and fosters evidence-based innovations in social-emotional development (SED) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in educational settings. We provide trainings and assessment tools that inform educators about program quality, youth social-emotional development, and academic engagement.Everyone at PEAR shares a passion for improving the lives of children by increasing their opportunities for success, both in and out of school.The Evaluation Services Associate is a full-time position, which assists in the delivery of all aspects of PEAR's program evaluation services, from project coordination to dissemination of findings. The position requires strong analytic, writing and communication skills.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport evaluation coordination efforts with clients, including on-going communication, design of projects, qualitative and quantitative data interpretation and producing resources and tools.Lead data collection efforts, including conducting interviews, facilitating focus groups, and monitoring survey data collection.Analysis of primary data (both qualitative and quantitative) and secondary data (perform literature, systematic, and mapping reviews and meta-analyses).Write and produce research reports, case studies, and other evaluative materials for a variety of audiences (funders, CBO leaders, youth program facilitators, school and district leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders).Assist in the development and delivery of innovative evaluation tools and processes and priority research and development projects. Value diversity of thought, backgrounds, and youth leadershipQualifications and RequirementsMasters or Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field1-2 years' experience related to data collection, management and analysis. Experience preparing internal and/or external research reports, documents and briefs.SkillsProficiency in statistics and experience using different types of software for data manipulation, management, storage and scheduling (e.g., SPSS, R, STATA, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Access)Ability to work as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritiesMust be able to work across platforms (i.e., Mac and PC computers)All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication and administrative purposes.Working ConditionsSetting: Remote work (PEAR is fully remote while the pandemic continues, eventual office space would be in the greater Boston area for hybrid use by staff members living locally)Travel required: NonePhysical requirements: NoneSupervisory ResponsibilityMentoring and training of interns and research assistants.Fiscal ResponsibilityNoneSalary Range: 40,000-45,000 based on experienceThe above is intended to describe the general conditions and requirements of work being performed by people assigned to this position.
