Job Description Gritstone bio is a public, next-generation personalized cancer and infectious immunotherapy company. The company---s goal is to identify and deploy neoantigens for novel treatments of cancer and infectious diseases. In addition to neoantigen therapy development, Gritstone is leveraging its unique antigen discovery platform to define targets for shared antigen immunotherapies, which would provide an opportunity to treat even more patients. The Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics group at Gritstone bio is looking for a Research Associate II to manage mass spectrometry instrumentation and perform wet lab experiments to support the HLA-immunopeptidomics platform. The ideal candidate will be actively engaged in processing and preparing samples prior to mass spectrometry analysis to build and expand our tumor HLA peptide dataset and to enable target discovery for novel cancer immunotherapies. Specific responsibilities: Use Mass Spectrometry workflows to process /produce/analyze HLA peptides Expand cell lines for processing Independently plan and execute assigned experiments and lab tasks Maintain mass spectrometry instrumentation Execute targeted and discovery MS analyses and advance MS acquisition methods for Class II HLA peptides Lead/ and or assist in writing and revising SOPs Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor---s degree (or equivalent), preferably in scientific discipline or a health-related field. 1 years relevant industry experience in protein mass spectrometry Direct experience with Orbitrap FusionTM and EASY-nLC preferred Experience with tissue processing, cell culture and immunoprecipitation is a plus Other Qualifications: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, small start-up company environment. Self-motivated, self-disciplined and able to function independently as well as part of a team. Strategic agility, strong critical and logical thinking with ability to analyze problems Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in an evolving environment Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
