The Senior Application Scientist is primarily responsible for driving and accelerating customer adoption and success with research technologies that enable discovery in the life sciences. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, user consultations, support, relationship management, establishing and managing contract research, market research for early adopters and community expansion. Some travel will be expected as the Senior Application Scientist leads efforts to educate the market through demonstrations, workshops and seminars. The role will also involve identifying and collaborating with lead customers in industry and academia to design and deliver high-impact studies, and to research & develop novel applications for performing diverse tissue histology projects.As an early member of the company, you will be an integral part of our team and leadership opportunities are expected to become available to you as the company scales.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Science - Ph.D. in molecular biology, neuroscience, cancer biology, pathology or equivalent. Experience with fluorescent imaging, immunolabeling, and handling of delicate & precious biological samples are strongly desired, along with knowledge of mammalian systems.
  • Excellent Communication - Tailors communication to users with confidence. Effective presentation capabilities with ability to clearly deliver technical information.
  • Scientific Writing - Aptitude to write grant applications, and publish content (blog posts, white papers, etc.) that resonates with users and enables an appreciation of our technologies and pipeline
  • Business Acumen - Continuously evaluate a variety of business development opportunities with diverse industry players and lead scientists in academia.
  • User-Focused - Understands customer pain points, expectations, and needs; regularly brainstorms with team members to come up with solutions that help our current and potential users adopt our technologies and expedite research
  • Workflow Management - Sets clear, realistic, and time-bound objectives that align to business growth both short & long-term
