play an important role in shaping the growing design consulting
practice in North America. By bringing your design thinking and
design driven approach into the commercial arena you will support
the growth of the company and help to further transform and improve
Healthcare through customer engagements.You are responsible
for:
- Supporting customer engagement activities together with
internal businesses/teams in order to align business strategies
with customer needs/signals using a design thinking mindset.
- Identify, propose, and design solutions that may span user
experience, technology, architecture, as well as product, software
& service design domains.
- Support the creation of tailored propositions aligned to the
repositioning of the company in the solutions space, leading to
long term strategic partnerships (LPS's) with key customers.
- Be a hands-on facilitation and design process expert, shaping
engagements, advising client teams as well as working as a liaison
with internal teams to see ideas through to appropriate design and
implementation levels across a variety of platforms.
- As required, create or oversee follow-up documentation of
client engagements and impact to articulate design value and next
steps by relevant stakeholders or Philips personnel.Key
communicating & consulting skills:
- Communicate ideas clearly and persuasively at both an
individual and group level.
- Leverage systems thinking and creative skills
(writing/sketching/diagramming/reframing) to simplify complex
challenges, make things tangible, and aid in aligning stakeholders
towards a common vision.
- Build relationships and appropriately influence relevant
internal teams and direct business contacts to achieve short- and
long-term goals.
- Excited to work with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds
(design, business, technical/clinical SME's)
- Strong facilitation skills, comfortable in a consulting
environment with exec-level participantsYou are part ofThe
Strategic Design Consulting team, a multi-disciplinary team working
with hospitals and health systems across the healthcare continuum
to improve patient and staff outcomes and experiences.The Philips
Design global creative force of some 400+ professionals is located
in our Design studios in Europe, North America and Asia. You will
be part of an amazing cross-disciplinary team that includes
architects & interior designers, product design, interaction
design, service design, people research, communication design, and
project management. As part of the Cambridge team, you will be
co-located with product managers, R&D scientists and business
leaders defining the future of many of Philips' businesses.To
succeed in this role, you'll need a customer-first attitude and the
following
- Bachelor or Master degree in product, communication,
interaction, and/or business design
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in design strategy,
user experience and/or visual design, ideally in a consulting or
agency environment
- A background in communications and content strategy or
organizational design is a plus
- You are comfortable in a consulting environment, facilitating
workshops and ongoing engagements with internal and external
executive-level participants in a confident, productive manner
- You understand the role design can play and can articulate how
it drives strategic growth for our customers
- Strategic, systems thinker, with design + business mindset and
background
- Strong visual and/or narrative communication skills
- Collaborative team player, Self-motivated, pro-active thinker,
mentors and coaches others
- Good verbal and written skills in English
