Job Description:

Regel Therapeutics is a gene therapy company focused on improving the life of patients suffering from disorders resulting from alteration of gene expression. Our proven T3 (Targeted Therapeutic Technology) platform combines AAV delivery with two proprietary technologies for efficient and specific restoration of gene expression exclusively in the cells affected by the pathology. We are a seed-stage startup based in Cambridge, MA and Berkeley, CA and are looking for a talented Research Associate to join our R&D team and work under the guidance of senior researchers.

Role Responsibilities

• Establish and implement in vivo screening methodology
• Validate hits using histological and molecular biology techniques
• Participate in experimental design
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities
• Communicate research findings to leadership
  Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS or MS in biology, neurobiology or related field with 1-3 years relevant research experience in laboratory setting
  • Experience with tissue sectioning (e.g. using a vibratome and/or cryostat)
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and microscopy
  • Experience with standard molecular biology techniques
  • Experience with performing basic experimental analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of working in collaborative environments
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with in situ hybridization and/or RNAscope
    • Hands-on experience handling mice and with mouse surgical techniques
    • Experience with mammalian cell culture
    • Previous experience working with AAVs
