Position summary:
Tevard Biosciences, an exciting startup company co-founded by
renowned MIT molecular cell biologist, Dr. Harvey Lodish, and
developing novel tRNA therapies for rare diseases, is seeking a
Research Associate, Molecular & Cell Biology . This position
requires an innovative mindset, great attention to detail, and the
ability to work collaboratively to solve difficult problems. The
successful candidate will have an opportunity to positively impact
patients with serious unmet medical needs while working closely
with our world-class scientific team, including company co-founder
Dr. Lodish.
As an expert scientist in molecular and cell biology, you will be
responsible for establishing cellular assays to demonstrate in
vitro proof of concept for Tevard's tRNA therapeutic leads and
characterize the cellular activity and downstream disease-relevant
biology to help prioritize candidates for in vivo studies.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Work with a team of scientists to innovate, optimize, and execute
gene therapies designed to modulate mRNA function and treat a broad
range of genetic diseases.
Design, troubleshoot, and execute cell-based assays in human and
rodent cell lines to characterize the efficacy and safety of
Tevard's novel therapeutic leads.
Ability to independently troubleshoot experiments, solve
challenging problems, and manage time effectively.
Support research scientists to meet key research objectives.
Maintain electronic lab notebooks and report results to the
scientific team.
Minimum qualifications:
RA1: BS/MS in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, biological
sciences, or a related field.
RA2/SRA: BS/MS with 1-2 years (RA1) or 3-4 years (SRA) of
professional experience (industry preferred).
Practical experience with mammalian cell culture techniques
including sterile technique, passaging, and banking cells.
Experience with Flow Cytometry/FACS is a plus
Experience in standard molecular biology techniques such as gel
electrophoresis, PCR, RNA biology (extraction, purification), DNA
Assembly, and/or next-generation sequencing.
Experience with SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA or MSD, and other
protein quantitation techniques is preferred.
Hands on CRISPR experience is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to learn new concepts and
technologies quickly, and thrive in a collaborative
cross-functional environment.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with
colleagues and effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in
a fluid, fast-paced work environment.
Title commensurate with level of experience.
