Job DescriptionJob SummaryTo support advances in vaccines
through development of new serological assays that differentiate
novel vaccines from current vaccines. The Scientific Associate will
contribute to establishment of alternative serological parameters
relevant to novel vaccines, develop new or improved assays to
measure these parameters, and demonstrate their validity in
preclinical animal models for use as exploratory endpoints in early
clinical trials.Major Responsibilities
- Optimize existing assays and develop new immunoassays for both
preclinical and clinical testing of immune responses to novel
influenza vaccine candidates. Emphasis on the identification of
serological markers to differentiate novel vaccines from existing
vaccines.
- Perform serology assays for serum samples from animal studies
for the in vivo characterization of novel vaccine candidates.
- Perform serology assays for serum samples from clinical studies
for the in vivo characterization of novel vaccine candidates.
- Prepare and present data in the context of the overall project
at cross-functional meetings.
- Compose and revise protocols and technical documents.
- Work and communicate effectively with others within and across
functions
- Follow internal policies and procedures to maintain day-to-day
lab operation, quality standards, HSE compliance etc.Minimum
Requirements
- BS/MS in relevant immunology and biology fields or equivalent
discipline with 0+ years' experience in biotech industry or
academic research institute.
- Experience with one of the following skills is required: ELISA,
ELISpot, multiplex measurements (Luminex technologies), cell
culture, cell-based assays.
- Ability to design, execute, analyze, and interpret data in a
timely manner with guidance and supervision.
- Good demonstration of time and resource management,
communication, and teamwork
- Ability to generate written reports, present data at
cross-functional internal meetings.
- Software skills: GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPointPreferred
Requirements
- Understanding basics on human and laboratory animal immune
systems and assay methods is preferred
- Familiarity with biosafety procedures for levels BSL-1, BSL-2,
and BSL-2+ is preferred
- Knowledge in hemagglutination inhibition assay (HAI) and viral
