Job Description:
60 million! That is how many people are affected globally by
glaucoma. This can lead to progressive damage to retinal ganglion
cells and the optic nerve and may lead to blindness.
At Novartis, we are developing new therapies to help control
glaucoma disease progression by lowering eye pressure and by
protecting retinal neurons to treat this silent thief of sight.
We are looking for an experienced scientist to join our
Ophthalmology Department to support the discovery and development
of innovative glaucoma treatments.
What you'll be doing:
Applying cell-based assays to support the discovery, validation and
characterization of novel glaucoma therapies and
handling/processing of ex-vivo tissues for
pharmacodynamics/biomarker assessments. Independently perform
experiments, troubleshoots issues, evaluate data, generate reports,
and present data at internal forums.
Contribute to the design and optimization of experiments and stay
current on literature and technological advances. Collaborate with
cross-functional teams on target discovery and drug development
projects.
Assist in general laboratory maintenance.
