At eGenesis, we aspire to deliver safe and effective human transplantable cells, tissue and organs utilizing the latest advancements in genome editing.


We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and scientifically driven computational biologist/ bioinformatician who will bring their expertise to enhance our understanding of the genomic landscape of non-standard model organisms. The incumbent will conduct cutting-edge science, bridging computational biology, gene-editing, and immunology. The ideal candidate should enjoy problem solving, working with novel technologies, and be a team player. By leading the generation and analysis of novel genome sequencing, this team member will have an opportunity to contribute to our goal of solving the organ shortage crisis by xeno-transplantation of pig organs and tissues into humans.


+ Assemble, annotate and characterize novel genomes using various sequencing technologies

+ Develop novel computational methods, and use existing methods, to analyze data from mammalian cells with varying genetic backgrounds to assist in design and assessment of gene-editing experiments

+ Analyze long- and short- read sequencing data from various technologies to create novel porcine genome reference sequences and understand fundamental differences between various pig breeds

+ Perform analyses of genomic data to assist in design, validation and assessment of gene-editing experiments

+ Work closely with various teams on design of experiments and analysis of data

+ Communicate results both internally and to a broad scientific audience

+ Bring emerging methods and technologies in computational biology and sequencing platforms

+ Initiate and guide the generation and analysis of top quality genetic and genomic data in close collaboration with various teams


+ PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics or related field, or MS with at least 5 years of experience in academia or industry

+ Strong genetics and genomics knowledge base

+ Experience with various DNA sequencing technologies, including short- and long-read sequencing (Illumina, Nanopore, PacBio)

+ Familiarity with the analysis SNP arrays, WGS and WES

+ Experience in the development and application of statistical/machine learning methods to the analysis of diverse biological and clinical datasets is preferred

+ Strong problem-solving skills

+ Experience in utilizing Python and R programming languages as well as bioinformatics pipeline development

+ Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated by a significant publication record

+ Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
