Job Summary
We are seeking a talented scientist to join an exciting, fast
growing and well financed new company striving to develop novel
cell therapies from ES/IPS cells. The ideal candidate will have
significant research experience in gene editing of ES/IPS cells and
differentiation. The candidate must be skilled in stem cell
biology, molecular biology, and analytical techniques used to
characterize gene edited cells and their differentiated
populations. This position requires the ability to creatively solve
challenging problems, both by working independently as well as part
of a team.
Responsibilities
Establish robust protocols to generate and scale the
differentiation of various specific cell types from stem cells
Design, execute, and interpret multiple experimental workflows
including the standard stem cell biology methods
Develop molecular and functional assays in relevant cell types
differentiated from iPSCs
Dissect published literature to find novel solutions to cell
therapy problems.
Qualifications
Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in molecular and cell biology,
developmental biology, stem cell biology, or related disciplines
and 0-3 years of relevant post-doctoral employment experience
Proven expertise in developing human stem cell approaches,
applications to unique biological problems, profiling, and assay
development
Deep knowledge of human iPSC cell culture, characterization, QC,
and differentiation
Proven hands-on experience with a variety cell-based and molecular
biology readout technologies, such as RNAseq, FACS, qPCR,
immunostaining
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a
results-oriented research team environment
Must possess critical thinking and self-reliance to solve tasks
independently
Self-motivated and scientifically rigorous, successful candidate
will have outstanding organization and multitasking capability
Candidate must possess flexibility to quickly pivot as projects
demand.
