The Role We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative, and innovative Computational Biology Researcher to join the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics team and help drive the exploration of multi-omics data sets for biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and target discovery in the context of metabolism-based precision medicine for autoimmune disorders. This individual will be an integral part of the Computational Biology team and will be a partner to the Research Informatics, Cellular Metabolism, Biology, and Chemistry functions at Rheos, building novel analyses pipelines and novel computational tools for data exploration across the organization. Responsibilities - Design, implement, and test computational pipelines for high-throughput multi-omics data - Develop and implement creative computational biology and bioinformatics methods/algorithms for analyses of complex datasets; - Develop and maintain new analytical tools to be used across the organization, from data scientists to bench biologists and executive team; - Identify and curate relevant large-scale public datasets - Participate in project teams and contribute to experimental design and data analysis, interpretation and communication of results Requirements and Qualifications - PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years' work experience or MS with 5+ years relevant work experience - Extensive experience in computational pipelines for analysis of omics datasets, including single-cell RNA-Seq and ATAC-Seq. - Proven track record of translating genome-wide analyses into testable experimental hypotheses - Prior experience developing pipelines using Nextflow or Snakemake - Hands-on development of interactive tools for a non-technical audience (R Shiny, python) - Experience with network biology approaches a plus - Excellent programming skills in R/Python - Expertise with good practices for reproducible research (git, markdown, jupyter notebooks) - Familiar with cloud computing (AWS) - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Prior experience in biotech/pharma industry in drug discovery - Experience in integrative analysis of multi-dimensional omics data - Prior exposure to metabolomics pipelines Rheos Medicines is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and to provide equal opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex or gender identity, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation or genetics.
