If you answered "yes" to these questions, we want you to join our team!Metalmark Innovations is a young startup commercializing cutting-edge air purification systems, built around its nanostructured materials.The Research Associate will work with the team to design, run, and report on experiments and tests of Metalmark materials and products in an iterative R&D, scale-up, and commercialization process. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work efficiently in an R&D and prototyping laboratory, will be a technically advanced and highly motivated self-starter who can apply their skills to complex problems. The candidate should be highly adaptable to a fast-paced environment and be resourceful in adapting and leveraging available equipment and materials. Strong work ethics, excellent self-management skills, and team player capabilities are required.Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of screening protocols for evaluating Metalmark's proprietary materials and systems using various experimental equipment and processes;
    • Design and optimization of testing methodologies;
    • Analysis, interpretation, and presentation of experimental results to a multidisciplinary team.Required Qualifications:
      • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, or related field;
      • Clear and precise recording of experiments and data. The candidate must be meticulous in writing down and reporting experimental procedures and results;
        • Excellent knowledge of good laboratory practices;Investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems;
          • Project management training and experience are highly desirable;
          • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, detail-oriented;
          • Capability to work independently and as a team player;
          • Capability to interact efficiently with vendors, partners, and collaborators.Others:
            • The candidate must be able to work in chemical and measurement laboratory environments and will work around compressed gases, vacuum pump oils, acids, solvents and other chemicals;
            • Hands-on knowledge of a variety of characterization instruments and techniques such as UV-vis, DLS, FT-IR is an essential part of this work and will all be needed at different stages of the research project. The suitable candidate is expected to be or quickly become proficient in most of them.Location:
              • This person will work out of Metalmark's Cambridge, MA location, which is easily accessible by public transit from Harvard Square and other parts of the Greater Boston area. Local shuttle runs from Alewife T Station. It is also well served by bike lanes. No or very limited parking available in the area.Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $55,000.00 per yearBenefits:
