We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled in vivo scientist
to join the Immuno Modulation (iMOD) group within Novartis
Exploratory Immuno-Oncology. We are dedicated to discovering
innovative cancer therapeutics and therapeutic formats that
transform patient's lives. The successful candidate will become a
key individual contributor in a dynamic, multidisciplinary
discovery team interrogating a number of novel immuno-oncology
targets. The candidate will be expected to generate data that
increases our biological understanding of emerging cancer targets.
The high-quality data generated will directly impact the discovery
of therapies and contribute to the design of future clinical
trials. This position will therefore be ideal for those candidates
wishing to combine their interest in immunobiology of cancer with
their strong desire to discover and help develop therapeutic

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design, development, characterization,
implementation and validation of relevant immuno-oncology and
disease centric in vivo models for identifying and profiling the
biologic effects of perturbing inflammatory pathways to understand
target biology and impact on disease
- Excel in designing and setting up subcutaneous and orthotopic
cancer models to evaluate cellular therapy strategies, including
efficacy, PK, PD, and mechanism of action analyses.
- Perform ex vivo assays including immunology-based analysis and
pharmaco-dynamic studies tailored to the strategy and target of
interest, with an emphasis on FACS analyses on tumor and other
- Document, analyze, and interpret experiments, present results
within a multidisciplinary team environment.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- BA/MS with at least 2-5 years of prior experience in industry
or academia in in vivo physiology, biology, and/or
- Excellent hands-on in vivo skills to independently implement
rodent oncology models to evaluate efficacy, PK and PD
- Experience with xenografts, syngeneic models, in vivo assays
for pharmacokinetic evaluations, flow analysis and cell culture are
- Proficiency with in vivo procedures in rodents, including
multiple of dose administration (IP, PO, IV, SC), blood and tissue
collection, dissection techniques and necropsies.
- Ability to work on complex problems where analysis requires an
in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Scientifically motivated
and exercises independent judgment in selecting experimental
methods, techniques, evaluation criteria for obtaining results, and
- Strong verbal and writing skills for documentation of data,
drafting of technical reports, and communication of progress to
manager. Meticulous laboratory approach, careful adherence to
