Basic Qualifications

A B.S. degree in the biological sciences and 3 years directly related research experience, including demonstrated skills in mammalian stem cell culture are required.

Job Summary

Reporting to Professor Lee Rubin, Dept of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, the Research Assistant will provide essential infrastructure to the skeletal muscle group. The candidate will collaborate with a team of researchers (scientists, postdoctoral fellows and research assistants) who will use small molecule and cell-based therapies to target skeletal muscle disorders. Experiments will involve in vitro cultures of mouse and human muscle, and standard molecular and cell biological techniques including immunohistochemistry, qPCR, and Western blotting. In addition, single cell RNAseq and ATACseq methodology will be employed. Finally, studies will be carried out to assess engraftment, integration and functional readouts using mouse models of skeletal muscle diseases.
