Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Business Intelligence and Analytics will report to the US and Global Head of BI&A. This person will be responsible for implementing processes and providing broad market insights critical to the successful commercialization of the Blueprint Medicines portfolio, including Avapritinib and Pralsetinib. He/she will be a foundational member of commercial team and work closely with Marketing, Commercial Operations, Pricing, Trade and Distribution, Patient Services, Field Personnel and Commercial Leadership with visibility to the Executive Team.


  • Lead/contribute to forecasting and analytics activities as well as market research and competitive intelligence to bring key data-driven business insights to leaders within the commercial organization in a proactive manner. Act as key point person for BI&A support in one of our key areas of focus; contribute to the others.
  • Define, track and communicate launch Key Performance Indicators (quantitative and qualitative). Deliver sales and market tracking tools to provide actionable insights to key stakeholders. Perform ad hoc analyses to address business questions
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Operations and Leadership to ensure information and insights are being cascaded throughout the commercial organizations and supporting functions
  • In conjunction with key stakeholders (e.g. Marketing), identify opportunities to leverage data to bring to light market opportunities, define and implement analytical approaches to address key challenges and support customer-facing initiatives such as non-personal promotion and multichannel marketing
  • Develop processes, manage vendors, and generate deliverables to effectively assess business potential, profile accounts and inform key stakeholder engagement
  • Collaborate with commercial and finance leadership to define and quantify the impact of market opportunities and threats across the portfolio
  • Provide monthly coordination with Supply Chain - near/long term outlook and key risks and opportunities to help ensure appropriate decisions are made
  • Work closely with field leadership to develop territory alignment, develop, and manage incentive compensation plans and support account planning/targeting
  • In conjunction with patient services, identify and track service metrics important to patients, to enable a consistent, high-quality patient experience
  • Define and implement processes to obtain and analyze market access data to understand the payer landscape and track formulary coverage
  • In conjunction with Trade and Distribution and Information Systems, develop systems to process and deliver distribution channel analytics. Ensure data integrity and adequate data flows between the company and partners. Provide regular, actionable reports on distribution channel analytics to key stakeholders
  • Participate in broader commercial team initiatives based on business need and development interest
  • Ensure reporting of accurate information. Manage and adhere to all Blueprint Medicines policies, ensuring compliance with corporate rules and government regulations
  • Consolidate and summarize data for ad hoc analysis, e.g. ROI analysis


  • BA/BS degree required. MBA, consulting, or other equivalent experience preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrated track record showing high business impact
  • Oncology experience and/or rare disease experience also highly valued


  • Intuitive ability to understand business objectives, define and implement analytical approaches, and draw conclusions from data and recommend actions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking
  • Experience analyzing data such as IQVIA, Symphony Health, Komodo, specialty pharmaceutical distribution data, and claims data
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis, trends
  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence/ forecasting tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Anaplan)
  • Expertise in R, Python, etc. also highly valued
