The Biological Engineering and Gene Therapy group at NIBR is working to turn the latest in leading edge gene therapy and nucleic acid science into treatments and are looking for a Analytical Scientist to join the team. If you are passionate about analytics and want to apply your skills to the gene editing / nucleic acid fields we would like to hear from you. We are seeking a creative and skilled scientist to apply advanced analytics to innovative nucleic acid-based therapies such as mRNA, siRNA and AAV.

What you'll be doing:

* Provide characterization and quantitative analytics expertise to support projects from exploratory characterization through NHP studies. * Establish and monitor specifications for various nucleic acid and gene therapy impurities. * Evaluate and apply new assays using a variety of analytical methods for biological, chemical and physical characterization of AAV and therapeutic oligonucleotides (siRNA, mRNA, anti-sense oligos). * Write experimental protocols, internal reports and present results at meetings. * Perform extraction and bioanalysis of AAV and oligo therapeutics from a variety of matrices to measure biodistribution, PK, stability and tissue targeting.

* B.S. and 5 years of experience or M.S. and 3 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry, molecular biology or a related field. * In-depth experience with quantitative analytics and assay development/optimization. * Highly proficient in LC-MS and various types of analytical chromatography.

Desirable:

* Experience with common biological assays such as ELISA, PCR and spectroscopy. * Experience with oligonucleotides
