Additional Qualifications and Skills: Desirable Skills: + B.S. in Architecture, Construction, Facilities Management, Space Planning preferred. + Excellent and demonstrated communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. + Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and individuals and balance priorities is a must. + Experience working in a university, medical or research environment is highly desirable. + Strong organizational skills, creativity, motivation, and communication (oral and written) skills are required. + Ability to tackle projects simultaneously in a dynamic team environment is essential. + Ability to provide superior client service to all levels of the organization with diplomacy, tact, and confidence is required. Department:Wyss InstitutePre-Employment Screening:Education, IdentitySchedule: Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm Job Function:Facilities Job-Specific Responsibilities: What youll do: + Develop, analyze and recommend cost efficient and effective utilization of space for short and long range space planning and forecasting consistent with the Institutes growth plans. + Serve as a co-lead in the planning and management of the Institutes construction and renovation projects; Oversee and work with architects, engineers and contractors on the planning design and implementation ensuring conformance with all regulatory and safety standards. + Serve as project manager for designated projects, supervising all aspects of projects including reviewing and maintaining completion schedules. + Manage and prepare budgets for facilities operations and projects within the Institute; Supervise, develop and mentor a facilities manager. + Oversee all facilities and contracted services to ensure the Institute is well maintained, clean and safe. Recommend and coordinate plans for ongoing and long-term operating needs. + Collaborate with building security and the facilities manager on building access. + Manage allocation of Wyss parking spaces in the Center for Life Sciences (CLSB) garage and coordinate with Harvard Medical School parking office. + Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others. About the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our community as Associate Director of Facilities and Planning. Reporting to the Senior Director of Research Operations, you will be responsible for driving space planning initiatives and overseeing the management of the Institutes facilities.
