To request reasonable accommodation, please contact hr@.Draper is seeking a motivated laboratory researcher to contribute to the design and execution of biological and analytical studies to support R&D programs across a spectrum of government and commercial sponsors. We are developing novel technologies at the interface between biology, chemistry, and engineering, with a particular emphasis on leveraging our groundbreaking advances in microfluidic systems for applications ranging from diagnostics to biomolecular synthesis.This opportunity will emphasize skills and experience with microfluidic device design and testing, and will benefit from experience and working knowledge of biochemical, cellular, and molecular analysis techniques. Responsibilities:Design, model, fabricate, and characterize technologies and devices for interfacing microfluidics and electronics.Develop and execute laboratory research plans that support project goals and milestones.Experimental design, assay execution, troubleshooting, and data analysis for studies that involve technologies at the convergence of biology and engineering.Document, present, and provide written reports of results.Lead teams of engineers in development of new devices and technologies.Assist with development of internal capabilities by providing technical expertise.Generate project concepts and contribute to proposal development for a range of sponsors.The position will involve hands-on laboratory work in addition to coordination and supervision of lab staff and resources. EducationPhD or MS with 2 or more years of experience in Biomedical, Chemical, Mechanical or related Engineering disciplinesExperienceExpertise in microfabrication techniques and technologies, including experience in microfluidic device design, fabrication and testing is required.Expertise in computational modeling including knowledge of fluid mechanics and structural mechanics is preferred.Working knowledge and understanding of biochemical, cell and molecular analysis techniques is preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.This position requires the ability to acquire and maintain a US government security clearance; existing clearance is strongly preferred.
