CIC Health Head of Health Equity & Community Wellness - Cambridge, MA Cambridge, MA / CIC Health: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging / The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the damaging impacts of the disparities in our healthcare delivery system. To leverage each individual's access to equitable healthcare, CIC Health (CICH) has established the role of Head of Health Equity & Community Wellness (HOHE). This key role will report to the Chief Operating Officer & President of CICH. The incumbent will be championed by the Executive Leadership of CICH. In this role, you will drive CICH's journey to becoming a more diverse, inclusive, equitable and culturally competent organization. You will create partnerships with local community leaders and Public Health leaders in underrepresented communities for CICH markets. The ultimate goal is to establish and implement a strategy to promote health equity across CICH's current COVID-19 testing and vaccination business lines to ensure CICH is delivering health services that are equitable and inclusive. As the Head of Health Equity, you will work to define measures of equity, identify areas for improvement, and facilitate efforts to achieve them. You will further CICH's goals around cultural competency in the design and implementation of our services. You will lead efforts to work collaboratively with the broader community to advance health equity so that our healthcare delivery system can work better for everyone - regardless of their race, ethnicity, age, background, or economic status. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK You will join our leadership team at CIC Health and help drive its mission of providing more accessible and frequent testing and vaccinations for COVID-19. Potential responsibilities will include: Strategy and Mission Orientation Support CICH capacity building both internally and externally to address health equity barriers and establish CICH as a leader. Embed health equity, diversity and inclusion principles and policies within and across the organization in support of our mission and communities we serve. Ensure health equity with emphasis on underserved populations in the areas of access to health care. Develop and implement a sustainable CICH and equity strategy to ensure the guests who come to our facilities for their vaccines have equal access to what they need. Lead the overall development and implementation of CICH's Health Equity vision, mission and strategy. Bring new innovation in health care delivery to underserved and marginalized communities through technology such as telemedicine. Assess our capacity to support remote services for communities with limited access. Partnership and Network Development Use grassroots organizing techniques to identify, cultivate and create long term sustainable relationships that have measurable impacts. Collaborate with key external community leaders/partners to ensure that healthcare needs in marginalized communities are accurately assessed and solutions put into place to ensure equity of both access and care. Conduct continuous assessments of the partner environment, and where lacking, initiate or develop new external partnerships within underprivileged communities. Leverage public health agencies such as the CDC, National Association of County and City Health Officials, PAHO and WHO, as well as international partners, to put into place best practices from around the globe into the United States. Represent CICH on cross-industry, multi-stakeholder forums, initiatives and collaborations to position CICH as a leader in health equity and diversity, and to strengthen trust and reputation in underserved communities. Develop and cultivate strategic collaborations with key external partners (including corporations, associations, foundations, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions and subject matter experts) to support execution of health equity, diversity and community wellness initiatives and establish CICH as a leader in healthy equity for guests. Work with governmental and public agencies to partner on key initiatives for community groups as well as work with the Marketing and Communications team for initiatives at the State and Federal legislatures. Org-wide Fluency Building in Health Equity and Community Wellness Develop and implement innovative knowledge sharing programs where CICH employees contribute their clinical and technical expertise to help build healthcare capacity in underserved communities with external partners (e.g. National Urban League, National Minority Quality Forum, Partners in Health, others). Provide oversight, guidance and counsel to support the creation and implementation of ethical, agile and sustainable health equity plans, programs and activities. Oversee health equity-related planning, spending & execution and communication of milestones & OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to CICH leadership. Collaborate with other leaders to ensure successful deliverables related to health equity issues. Collaborate with COO & President of CICH and CMEO (Chief Marketing & Experience Officer) on key strategic initiatives related to health equity, diversity and inclusion for guests. Ensure internal training on health equity and disparities through invited speakers, virtual training, and events. Able to effectively negotiate and collaborate with business partners and demonstrate the ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner. Able to build strong partnerships and drive role clarity with other interfacing CICH functions, including but not limited to Talent, Finance, Technology, Marketing & Communications, Operations, Growth and other business units. YOU HAVE A minimum of a bachelor's degree in public health or related field (required). Advanced or terminal degree in public health or related field (preferred). At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, project management and leadership experience, including 8+ years of line or matrix management experience. Extensive knowledge of public health, patient access and the interface with other organizations, functions and business units. Experience working with external organizations (including corporations, associations, non-governmental organizations and academic institutions) relevant to health equity and US healthcare. Significant experience leading within a complex, global organization and demonstrated ability to work across functions and regions at all levels without direct authority. Proven track record leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives. Strong strategic leadership capability with developed skills in team building and diversity initiatives. Broad understanding of the healthcare industry and regulations governing functions within industry activities and regulatory process. Strong understanding of the US Healthcare ecosystem including drivers and barriers of value-based care. Strong understanding of patient care value creation. Experience in professional relations, healthcare policy and stakeholder engagement preferred. Demonstrated competency in project or program management. Ability to work in a highly matrixed ecosystem with a high degree of complexity and ambiguity.
