Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Microfluidics Ohana Biosciences is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Research Associate/Senior Research Associate with expertise in cell biology and experience with microfluidics to play a vital role in the company's efforts to drive innovation in the field of reproductive health. As a member of our dynamic organization, you will have wide-ranging responsibilities and tremendous opportunities within an enthusiastic, highly interdisciplinary, and collaborative team developing new technologies for cell separation, biosensing, and diagnostics.   • Perform research to evaluate sperm function and quality using cell biology-based assays
  • Perform research testing of novel fluidic devices and evaluating cell separation technologies
  • Serve as a key contributor to the development of new technologies in sperm cell separation and sorting
  • Gather and analyze experimental data, keep accurate and detailed records of experiments and results in experimental notebooks
  • Participate in and present experimental results at team and company meetings-- What Skills You'll Bring
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in cell biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, or related field.
    • 2+ years of lab experience, in academic or industrial settings
    • Hands-on experience with cell-based assays for a variety of readout technologies, such as flow cytometry, fluorescence imaging, and Western blotting
    • Exceptional ability to work with hands to handle/manipulate small objects and keen attention to detail
    • Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative environment
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Highly motivated and excited about new technology development
    • Ability to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team, while being highly independent and self-motivated with the desire to learn new skills Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience with density gradient centrifuging and other cell separation techniques.
      • Familiarity working with fluidic instruments and systems (syringe pumps, valves, tubing connectivity, etc.)
      • Experience with microfluidic device design, fabrication and application, microfabrication techniques, and 3D printing is a plus
      • Experience working with LabVIEW or other automation software (e.g. Python, Matlab, etc.)
