Spero Therapeutics (Nasdaq: SPRO) is a multi-asset clinical stage biopharmaceutical company in Cambridge, Mass. We are highly committed to advancing novel treatment approaches for bacterial infections with a world-class team of biotechnological and biopharmaceutical experts. The company has a pipeline of novel and highly differentiated antibacterial and rare disease product candidates focused on the unmet needs of patients with multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacterial infections. Spero's lead product candidate, Tebipenem HBr, is an oral carbapenem currently being evaluated in a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections. Spero is also advancing SPR720, its oral antimicrobial agent in development for the treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) pulmonary disease, a rare orphan disease. Spero's third product candidate, SPR206, is an IV-administered agent being developed as an innovative option to treat MDR Gram-negative bacterial infections. We sincerely believe that our novel product candidates will have meaningful impact on patient health and significant commercial applications for the treatment of MDR infections in both the hospital and community settings. General Scope and Summary of Role Spero Therapeutics is looking for a collaborative, enthusiastic partner responsible for supporting the benefits, compensation, HR systems, and administrative functions of Spero's People and Culture (P&C) Department. This position requires a high level of interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, keen attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to engage with our people. This role collaborates with colleagues across the organization to ensure our people have a seamless experience. What You'll Do:

  • Build and maintain positive, successful relationships with colleagues and all Sperobes
  • Be a Total Rewards SME that ensure the highest level of operational excellence for People and Culture
  • Be the 1st point of contact to help and resolve all Sperobes' benefits questions, issues, concerns
  • Proactively monitor to ensure P&C's compliance with federal, state, local employment, and benefits laws and regulations, including annual reports filing. People Operations:
    • Responsible for ensuring overall compliance for all P&C records (both paper-based and electronic files) in compliance with applicable legal requirements; complete employment verifications.
    • Deliver a motivating 1st day onboarding experience for new hires, including hosting the welcome session to review our benefits offerings and enrollment process.
    • Create required documentation for People related changes for payroll processing, responsible for data entry into our HRIS, and ensure accurate record-keeping through regular review and audit of data.
    • Participate in various HR projects and initiatives and help develop company policies. People and Culture Technology:
      • Partner with IT, P&C, Finance, Accounting & Payroll to ensure all related people information is accurately entered and maintained in our systems of record.
      • Actively participate in evaluating opportunities to streamline and improve our technology platforms and programs; evaluate current processes and adjust as needed, including but not limited to data accuracy and communication methods.
      • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of HR systems to ensure smooth integration and data feeds.
      • Stay up to date with trends in people analytics, P&C best practices, and technology, identifying areas of improvement and opportunities for change.
      • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate responses for all Sperobes' benefits issues, questions, or needs.
      • Participate in the planning and delivery of our benefits and wellness programs and collaborate with our Benefits Broker to administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and responsible for benefits statement reconciliation.
      • Lead role to successfully plan and execute our annual benefits open enrollment process, including but not limited to site configuration, testing, and enrollments review.
      • Coordinate with our People and external providers and Payroll to effectively administer leave of absence benefits. What You'll Need:
        • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field
        • Minimunm of 3 years Human Resource experience including experience in operations, compensation, benefits.
        • Focus on providing exceptional service to our People.
        • Experience working with HR systems and technology with implementation lifecycle strongly preferred.
        • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to review, analyze, manipulate, and present data in various formats required.
        • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel as well as knowledge of various reporting tools and HR Technologies (Namely).
        • Ability to protect extremely sensitive and confidential People information.
        • Demonstrated experience in project and change management, and strong team player with proven ability to produce positive results under tight deadlines.
        • Ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
