Job Description:
We are seeking a Coordinator, International Advancement on the
University Development Office team within Harvard Alumni Affairs
and Development.
Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) comprises the University
Development Office (UDO), Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS)
Development, AA&D Resources, and the Harvard Alumni Association
(HAA). There is a unique relationship between the University and
the FAS fundraising operations, resulting from a long history in
which University fundraising ultimately
grew out of College fundraising.
University Development Office (UDO)
UDO works closely with the President and Provost, and their teams,
to determine their development efforts, leads fundraising for
University principal gifts, initiatives and international
fundraising, and coordinates cultivation and stewardship strategies
for a select group of top donors.
Reporting jointly to the Director, International Advancement for
Latin America and the Managing Director of Development Planning,
this full-time non-exempt position in the University Development
Office (UDO) works closely with senior members of the AA&D team
and colleagues across the University to advance University-wide
fundraising.
-- Job-Specific Responsibilities
-- Additional Qualifications and Skills --- Bachelor's degree
strongly preferred, higher degree a plus.
--- Excellent organizational skills. Capable of managing multiple
assignments from multiple sources; efficient, organized, detail
oriented, unflappable, and able to meet project deadlines.
--- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability
to comprehend and summarize detailed and complex research reports
and press articles to create briefings.
--- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound
professional judgment and possess a strong commitment to client
service.
--- Must be professional, enthusiastic, collaborative, focused,
motivated to learn and flexible to change, reliable,
self-motivated, and able to work effectively with people from
different backgrounds and experience.
--- Experience in an academic environment and knowledge of
international fundraising in a non-profit setting helpful.
--- Ability to work additional evening and weekend hours as
needed.
--- Solid computer skills in a PC and network environment, working
knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
-- Additional InformationThis position requires a 3 month
orientation and review period.
