SCOPE :

The Senior Manager/Associate Medical Director will be a key member of the Global Pipeline team within Biogen's World-Wide Medical organization. This newly created role will be responsible for new and/or emerging pipeline programs; support the development of early medical strategy to ensure communication and medical priorities are developed and will act as a key affiliate for registrational study design.  This senior manager/associate medical director will report to the Head of Emerging Pipeline.

The senior manager/associate medical director will typically support activities for multiple programs, with a focus on agility as programs approach go/no go decisions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support the development of global medical strategic imperatives and a communication framework in collaboration with pipeline scientific partnership

Lead critical projects to support pipeline development, serving as needed as the key Global Medical contact for important cross-functional partners (PDC, Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, Regional Medical, Pipeline SEE)

Support Head of Emerging Pipeline Director in cross functional efforts to ensure key communication priorities and data gaps are capture from global and affiliate

Provide medical expertise to and lead cross-functional teams and projects. Represent Global Medical at other cross-functional meetings as needed

Support Head of Emerging Pipeline in planning and development for international KME engagement and other Medical initiatives for internal and external development (global scientific platform, medical training, medical communication)

Collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to understand key insights that may be relevant to clinical trial and data generation efforts

Qualifications

MD, PhD, or PharmD required; preferably in neurology/neuroscience

5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience and / or a combination of clinical/research experience; Medical Affairs preferred

Experience with neurology, business development, medical functions

Excellent communication (particularly both written and oral), leadership, and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with regional and/or affiliate medical to ensure regional activities are executed in alignment with global medical strategy and ensuring the insights and needs from them are known and properly addressed

Ability to effectively operate in a highly matrixed organization

Strong interpersonal, influencing and project management skills

Must have the ability to travel
