business hours or serving as a roving detail guard. Functions
include checking badges of incoming employees and contractors;
issuing badges to visitors who have been vetted through Visitor
Control; ensuring that Lab and personal property is signed in and
out of the facility as required; assisting visitors and employees;
monitoring and responding to alarms; monitoring CCTV systems;
monitoring of Physical Plant and Environmental Health & Safety
systems, Fire and smoke alarm panels, lab-wide Safety monitoring
system, handling emergency calls from employees; dispatching
guards, safety personnel, maintenance personnel, EMT's and HAZMAT
teams as required, escorting visitors and contractors as required,
operation of baggage screening equipment, walk through metal
detector, handheld metal detector and various other duties
associated with the screening of visitors and record keeping.
After-hours patrol of Draper facilities Responsibilities includes
but are not limited to: Walking designated tours encompassing the
Draper buildings (interior and exterior), garage, and other
locations inside and outside of Cambridge. Identifying and
reporting any security, facilities and/or safety related issues
such as leaks, smoke, fire, abnormal temperature conditions,
suspicious individuals or activity, etc. Other security related
duties may be made available.QualificationsHigh school diploma
required. Associates degree or specialized classes or training in
Law Enforcement or Security preferred.
1-3 years previous Security, military or Law Enforcement
Experience using a PC necessary and knowledge of DSX Access Control
Software is a plus.
Ability to interact with people in a professional manner and
ability to communicate effectively is a must.
First Responder, CPR, AED certification desired.
Experience in the use of bagage xray, walk through and handheld
metal detectors prefered.
Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods required.
