This new VP role will lead Moderna’s Program Office. The Program Office is a newly formed function at Moderna, it will own the entire projects life cycle and process improvements at the company, we want to build a performance and continuous improvement-based culture leveraging best practices.. The program office will work closely with the project management or process improvenment teams to ensure overall responsibility for management, coordination and supervision of the projects processes from inception through completion and/or on process improvements end to end. This role will work cross-functionally getting massive visibility and impact on a global scale throughout the organization.. The role will require someone who is hands on and able to contribute as both a leader and individual contributor. The role will provide solid analytical support for all activities to improve daily operations and project deliveries. We are looking for individuals who can enhance our team with their knowledge, skills, innovation and “can do” attitude. He/she should be able to recommend, develop, implement, and support new practices that maximizes business value and efficiencies.. The candidate will leverage relationships and partnerships across the organization to successfully drive our strategic initiatives and improve our key processes across regions and functional segments.. He/She will be leading without authority and ultimately responsible for setting and driving the timelines that get our major projects develivered on time and our processes streamligned. The Program Office (PO) delivers sustainable, best in class thinking, governance, and process to enable the organization to execute flawlessly on it’s projects and processes.. This person will provide leadership and vision: the role requires a transformational leader (leadership is valued at all levels of the organization) who is willing to work and partner with all functional leaders on how to leverage best practices and demonstrate critical thinking to solve process and project challenges. Thinking and acting strategically is key.. Over time, this leader will be responsible for building, mentoring and developing a small team.. This role reports directly to the Chief Digital & Operational Excellence Officer.. Here is What You’ll Do:. Oversee the execution of all the company’s strategic projects to make sure that these follow enterprise-level objectives, responsible for coordinating across multiple teams, geographies and roles to ensure successful completion of strategic initiative deliverables. Own, drives and actively facilitate the interaction of cross-functional stakeholders to bring our projects to completion, including managing risks, Interdependencies, schedule, cost and quality. Identify program risks, develop mitigation/contingency and track progress. Articulate and progress project priorities with a particular focus on our strategic initiatives (e.g. Covid Launch, facilitate a global operating model setup for our commercial organization, egional expansion, etc.). You have the responsibility for articulating a vision and establishing and executing a multi-year strategy and roadmap to drive end-to-end process optimization and translating that strategy into tactical goals. Support the Operational Excellence leads of both large and complex process improvement/redesign projects across functions and departments as well as smaller scale quick win events; make sure working with the leads we have effective resources assigned to projects and timely completion of deliverables throughout all phases. Ensures that all projects, programs, and portfolios are resourced and supported appropriately, if not assign project managers to support them including sourcing externaly the appropriate project management capabilities if needed. Monitors and controls all processes around a project, ensures that all projects, programs, and portfolios are aligned with the company’s standards and methods, spot resource and knowledge gaps and take steps necessary to highlight/remedy. Working with each of the functions develops effective communication methods. Coordinate with each functional leads in the company to better understand their support needs and help with decisions related to investments and the distribution of resources at an enterprise level.. Conduct economic analysis on the projects and the portfolio of activities incorporating insights from multiple stakeholders and value to the business.. Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements across the functions with whom there is interaction and Standardizes metrics, tools, procedures, and techniques. Channel global information to local teams, act as conduit to support the business. Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:. MBA degree or equivalent with BioPharma background, preferred. 15+ years of experience of leading/ setting business strategy and savvy in working within multi-functional, interdependent organizations. Background in mergers and acquisition and oversight of program management and operational excellence programs. Cross-functional leadership skills – proactive ownership, prioritize & execute, inspire creativity, drive accountability. Proven results-oriented individual with strong influencing, problem solving, and negotiation skills that will drive accountability and who has a proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in the organization.. Ability to perform under pressure and lead multiple priorities with competing demands for resource while instilling confidence in the business and demonstrating the business value of the program Office. Ability to establish trust by being appropriately open, honest, consistent and ethical, seeking to eliminate inefficiencies and engaging others as well as organization, prioritization, follow-through and time management.. Demonstrated ability to inspire others to take on extraordinary efforts with positive attitudes, drive, and determination, that demonstrate a passion for business and project optimization.. Proven track record as not only as a “coach/leader” leading others, but also having the willingness and ability to roll up the sleeves and engage in detailed execution when required..
