Compass Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnologycompany developing proprietary antibody therapeutics intended toengage the immune system to treat both solid tumors andhematological malignancies. Compass is leveraging its proprietaryStitchMabs TM and common light-chain based multispecific platformsto identify multispecifics and combinations of antibodytherapeutics that synergistically modulate key nodes in the immunesystem. The company’s lead product candidate, CTX-471, is a fullyhuman agonistic antibody of CD137, which is in a Phase 1 study inpatients with inadequate responses to PD-1/PD-L1 checkpointinhibitors. Compass is also progressing several preclinical assetsincluding a novel class of NK cell engaging bispecifics targetingNKp30 and multiple bispecific checkpoint programs. The company’soffices and labs are based in Kendall Square in Cambridge,Mass.

Our Finance team is seeking a well-rounded andaccountable financial professional, with public company reportingand strategic finance experience to join our company at ourCambridge, MA site.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this individual willbe part of the executive leadership team with responsibilities forfinancial strategy, planning and operations. This individual willbe responsible for the public filings and to transition the financefunction from one that supports privately held start-up to afunction that supports public company in compliance withSarbanes-Oxley. Implementation of new processes and systems,further development of a financial and operational strategy and theongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed tomanage company’s finance and reporting. Preference will be given tocandidates with experience leading the financial operations and whohave led public filings at a public Biotech company.

Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of quarterly earnings reports, annualreport, and other public filings.

Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements, SOX planning,tax and payroll obligations.

Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecast processes,developing appropriate financial targets and interacting withemployees at all levels of the organization including functionalarea heads, program leads and executive leadership.

Maintain projections for both GAAP P&L and Cash Flow tosupport external guidance projections.

Partner with the company Controller and accounting team toassist transition the company to a public company via creation andenhancement of financial processes and controls.

Manage relationship with the auditors and other external partiesto ensure good financial operations and compliance.

Create and maintain long range financial plan for the company,provide ad hoc analytical support to program teams and functionalleaders to support key strategic and program investmentdecisions.

Monitor progress against those plans and adjust the plans as newdata become available.

Create financial models and support to business developmenttransactions, corporate projects and company financingactivities.

Develop understanding of the company’s pipeline and competitiveadvantages and know how to present them to analysts andinvestors.

Develop understanding of the investment environment andrelationship with the investment community.

Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or relateddiscipline; MBA and CPA preferred.

10 + years’ experience in finance roles, including at least 5years of financial and accounting experience in a public biotech orpharmaceutical company.

Strategic thinker with ability to develop a long-term strategywhile balancing near-term priorities.

Track record of partnering productively with accounting functionto support monthly & quarterly close and SEC filing activities.

Highly accountable professional with ability to delegateeffectively while also providing hands-on support & mentoring.

Confident, high energy, analytical and articulate leader withstrategic understanding of value creation in the biopharma industryand an ability to influence at an executive level.

Track record of innovation & process improvement.

Strong business partnering skills.

Adapt to working in a fast-paced and evolving environment andhave demonstrated ability to align the finance function with thegrowth of a company or organization.

Strong presentation and communication skills.
