The Role:

The Pricing Analyst will lead the analysis of pricing and value policy options, build evidence-based arguments, educate senior level stakeholders, drive internal alignment, and execute external engagement strategies to support Moderna’s vaccine global pricing and value objectives. This role will be responsible for leading, designing, and executing pricing research, pricing competitive intelligence, health economic models, economic burden evidence, and providing recommendations on global strategy to key internal stakeholders. This role will foster collaboration with key internal partners, including the SVP of Commercial Vaccines, the Head of Global Market Access, Vaccines, and the vaccines marketing organization. This role will interface extensively with cross-cutting issue workgroups at trade associations like PhRMA, BIO, EFPIA, EUCOPE, and IFPMA, as well as with relevant think tanks, NGOs, and global organizations.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Serve as t he internal expert to develop strategy and drive pricing and value policy proposals and projects for internal and external audiences; s erve as the e xpert to internal partners in priority countries and the regions to align Moderna policy positions, payer and patient advocacy resources, and best practices that shape access and value demonstration.

Lead internal partners in developing alternative p ricing and reimbursement approaches that preserve the innovation environment (e.g. innovative financing) for Moderna’s vaccines portfolio, both in-line and pipeline; identify and resolve internal disagreements in the interests of company and product portfolio.

Lead analysis of health economics data, market intelligence and monitoring of health technology assessment (HTA) evolution and requirements to develop models and planning assumptions to inform market access strategy, product development, health economics models, and economic burden evidence needs. Make recommendations for health economics publications and ensure that scientific data resulting from the execution of health economics studies are appropriately positioned in the public domain

Collaborate to design value demonstration and evidence-based models that meet the challenges of the dynamic global vaccines environment.

Lead assessment of pricing, value and reimbursement external risks and market prioritization with internal business partners, including product brand teams, and drive resulting actions and execution plans.

Identify and advance Moderna’s interest in relevant pricing, value and reimbursement-related policy documents, trade association proposals, and draft legislation and legislation; generate pricing and value policy options to support core business strategies.

Serve as champion of pricing and health economics initiatives to internal and external audiences; act a resource to internal partners in priority countries and the regions to understand Moderna pricing and value positions and best practices.

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise (Breadth and depth of knowledge, application and complexity of technical knowledge)

Demonstrated results in developing, implementing and executing successful, forward-looking, proactive, comprehensive approaches to access and reimbursement policy

In depth understanding of U.S. and global vaccines market dynamics of pricing and innovation and impact on biopharmaceuticals at the national, regional and global levels

Comprehensive knowledge of health economics and HTA requirements, trends and reimbursement pathways for key markets.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders such as government officials, patients/consumers, providers, etc.

Experience with horizon scanning trends, competitive intelligence, payers, market dynamics, and and related external drivers

Significant experience with the vaccines market segment especially as it related to innovative payment models, bundles, etc.

Skill in tracking and managing multiple issues in key markets, effectively prioritizing and adjusting strategies mid-course, when necessary

Facility in gathering internal stakeholders' feedback on advocacy materials to ensure continuous improvement; developing engagement strategies with clear objectives and metrics; supporting executive participation in policy or advocacy forums; building and managing relationships with policy opinion leaders in academia, think tanks, government, advocacy and other entities as needed; organizing high-impact meetings, policy briefings, and advisory boards in the U.S. and abroad.

Minimum 10 years’ experience in health economics, pricing, public health, health economics, international affairs showcasing increasing responsibility and experience in the same or similar roles.

Expertise in reimbursement, value and/or pricing policy and substantial knowledge of innovative payment models within the biopharmaceutical industry.

Track record of publications preferred

Experience driving business process transformation and organizational change

Proven experience delivering on programs, policies and initiatives with complex business deliverables driving to success
