The VP, BioTheraputics & Specialty Care Franchise Head orchestrates cross-functional responsibilities in order to ensure the brand(s) within their accountability have the ability to optimize the customer and patient experience while also maximizing the business outcomes for their respective teams. The VP, BioTheraputics & Specialty Care Franchise Head is ultimately accountable for the profit and loss of the franchise.

This is a cross-functional leadership position that oversees multiple functions in order to optimize the results of their respective franchise. The VP, BioTheraputics & Specialty Care Franchise Head focuses on maximizing the customer experience by ensuring that the brands under their purview have appropriate planning and execution that focuses on product, position, price and placement. This position is ultimately responsible for an overarching regional program and leads the team that is responsible for all function strategies (e.g., Medical, Managed Markets, Patient Services, Communications, Brand) and cross-divisional collaboration associated (e.g., RDBU, PVPS, Global Supply) with the product life cycle.

Oversee and lead the annual strategic brand and financial planning processes, including tactical plan development and execution for all brands within the Specialty franchise

Responsible for the development of specific brand strategies, platforms and programs, supported by analytics and deep customer insights, to achieve brand objectives across key stakeholder groups

Partner with the Commercial Planning Function to ensure all performance reporting and brand updates adequately reflect the views and beliefs of the brands within the franchise

Responsible for creating and delivering monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews, including executive leadership team presentations

Serve as a core member of the Global Program Teams (GPT) to provide U.S. commercial input and leadership for alignment on global strategic priorities, life-cycle management strategies (including new indications/label expansion) global manufacturing and supply needs, etc.

Provide oversight of internal/external communications and stakeholder engagement (including HCPs, patients, payers, IDNs, accounts, advocacy organizations, and government) relevant to the needs of the specialty disease community

Partner with Managed Markets leadership to develop and implement pricing, access, and contracting strategies across payer and account customer sets

Liaise with U.S. Medical and HEOR team to ensure alignment on appropriate evidence generation needs for the U.S. market to support short and long-term franchise objectives

Collaborate closely with patient services to provide insights to evolution of the patient journey and consider relevant market landscape changes and ensure appropriate and compliant patient and reimbursement support services for the specialty disease community

Appropriately manage budget and allocate resources to optimize specialty franchise performance

Coach and develop the specialty franchise leadership team to maximize engagement, optimize necessary capabilities, and support professional development needs and serve as culture champion for the specialty franchise and the broader PDTBU organization

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Bachelors’ degree (BA/BS) accompanied by 15+ years of marketing, sales or related commercial function experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and 5+ years in management-level positions with increasing responsibilities. MBA preferred

In-depth U.S. Commercial (sales and marketing) expertise and knowledge of the U.S. marketplace, including competitive environment and evolving market trends, pricing and market access landscape, clinical/medical landscape and guidelines, analytics and insights generation strategies, patient services support needs, and medical, legal/compliance and regulatory requirements. These experiences within Rare Disease or specialty biologics category preferred.

Financial acumen including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing and P&L evaluation. Previous P&L oversight and experience managing broad cross-functional teams, along with a proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding goals and objectives

Demonstrated experience establishing and engaging key customer groups and other important stakeholders to gain deep insights to evolve brand strategy and communication; especially critical to have the authenticity and ability to connect with Rare Disease communities

Possess strong leadership, business acumen and ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups. Inspire and lead innovation and synergies across teams to maximize team productivity and outcomes in support of overall portfolio

Embraces and demonstrates a diversity and inclusion mindset and role models these behaviors for the organization

Enterprise player in collaborating, supporting and implementing department and function initiatives to advance corporate agenda

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Up to 30% travel required.
