Description

The Role

The Vice President and Head of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) is responsible for directing the quantitative models necessary across the organization to develop, deploy, refine and scale our products and solutions. Our HEOR lead will be responsible for working with our Data Science, Finance and overall business leads to effectively capture population health metrics and performance measures and translate them into analyses spanning a wide-range of factors and variables (revenue, cost, provider network capacity, patient health outcomes, health plan coverage, etc.). Additionally, this person will work cross-functionally to tailor models and messaging appropriately to the audience involved (internal and external).

Major Responsibilities

Health Economics

* Insurance segment-level cost, quality, revenue and membership modeling based on current and future screening modalities

* Geographic analysis showing segmentation and differentiation of populations based on density and demographic factors

* Policy-level impact analysis capturing changes in coverage and benefits across short, medium and long-term timelines

* Provider-level analyses displaying current and future state provider operations for primary care, lab services, imaging orders and referral patterns coordinating and delivering care

* Work closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Financial Officer and SVP Policy to define and refine go-to-market strategy for product reimbursement and adoption

Outcomes Modeling

* Build analysis and inputs for presentations internally and externally communicating our retrospective and prospective outcomes and performance in studies, trials and other market-based endeavors

* Work closely with Sales / Account Management leads to identify and quantify opportunities across business line and monitor progress against initial assumptions post-implementation

* Coordinate across areas to influence publication strategy and publish findings accordingly, including with collaborative partners

* Further define, advance, and implement a quantified approach and strategy in support of the organization's priorities, efforts and achievements

* Support and facilitate opportunities for data acquisition, refinement and integration within our systems of record.

* Further develop and implement a communication strategy to educate impacted stakeholders on the merits, benefits and positive returns of adopting our new solutions

Requirements and Qualifications

* Bachelors degree required; advanced certifications (ie. CPA, CFA, FSA etc.) strongly preferred

* 10+ years of industry experience in Finance, Accounting, Health/Medical Economics, etc.

* Strategic and quantitative thinker a must

* Prior experience working in a health plan or medical economics unit within a health plan or health plan partner is required as is experience building and managing a team

* Successful experience at the P&L level building and measuring businesses cases for new innovations, products and services (at launch and at scale) is strongly preferred

* Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships while enhancing the company's strategic and operational positions

* Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to give presentations to a wide spectrum of audiences, both internally and externally

* Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and credibility with key individuals and to build and maintain a broad network of relationships in the preventive health services field

* Strong commitment to integrity and teamwork with proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, departmental and industry boundaries

* Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to persuasively and succinctly communicate complex concepts and programs at the highest levels of business and clinical operations

* Boston-based preferred, working remote is acceptable with frequent travel to Boston
