Job Description

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

This position will support the Associate Director for Conflict of Interest (COI) Management in assisting the faculty and staff in balancing fulfilling the mission of the Broad while taking a thought approach to ensuring that all conflicts of interest are identified and managed appropriately.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

* Supports the overall COI program. This includes, but is not limited to:

+ Summarizing outside activity opportunities for the COI committee members and members of the Executive Leadership Team

+ Developing tracking systems for outside activity and grant reviews

+ Track and monitor COI training compliance

+ Track and manage COI disclosing population and disclosure compliance

+ Continuously develop and support COI committee structure and coordinate activities with the Institute Conflict of Interest Committee

+ Works with the Associate Director to report conflicts of interest related to Public Health Service awards as needed

+ Reviews all annual disclosures

+ Supports the Associate Director in preparing the annual memo for the Board of Directors on the disclosure process and associated issues related to conflict of interest

* Supports the Associate Director in additional risk management and compliance activities including but not limited to:

+ Preparing agendas and materials for the Institutional Risk Management Committee and Export Controls Committee and

+ Research integrity and compliance matters as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

* Degree that may include management or organizational development such as business administration, public administration or a related field required.

* Superb written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

* Team player.

Preferred Experience

* Extremely detail oriented, excellent organizational skills.

* Knowledge and experience of faculty academic issues, with a particular emphasis on conflict of interest or other research compliance areas.

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in an academic research environment such as a university or teaching hospital, including experiences with external partners, ideally in a collaborative environment.

* Exceptional skill and ability to build strong relationships and negotiate complex issues in a highly matrixed environment.

* Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced highly collaborative environment.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with scientists, physicians, administration, and leadership.

* Proven ability to proactively anticipate issues prior to the development of problems.
