Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.How you will Achieve More with Intellia:Intellia is looking for a Software Engineering summer intern to join our Informatics Software Engineering team. In this role, you will onboard and take part in all general team activities and meetings. As an intern, you will have more abilities to explore and build tools related to your career trajectory. The software team works very closely with the laboratory automation team and there will be a lot of cross team overlap. You will have the opportunity to learn about the biotechnology industry and gain valuable hands-on experience in research and discovery (R&D) phase of drug development. This role supports the informatics software team here at Intellia and your responsibilities will include:

  • Design frontend web forms to allow the laboratory users access to data and processes.
  • Collaborating with other researchers and scientists on various ongoing projects.
  • Assisting in the development and/or improvement of backend services.
  • Assist in tracking and managing projects and source code via GitHub.
  • Hands on with a mission critical database system.
  • Develop and script in a wide variety of languages to accomplish the needs of users.
  • Connect services and devices via networking protocols.
  • Attending seminars and meetings to learn more about our company and our projects.About You: We are looking to hire a current student enrolled in an undergraduate program, studying computer science, engineering, bioinformatics, or a closely related field. Experience in programming (Python and or JavaScript languages) is required.Meet your Future Team:The software engineers here at Intellia are responsible for developing services and portals for end-users as well as managing cloud-based infrastructure. We also utilize several domain-specific contractors who remotely on our team to provide additional resources for development. Together the informatics team provides critical support and design services for the R&D laboratory.We are primarily remote with the occasional visit to the laboratory when onsite testing is required. By utilizing modern development methodologies and remote conferencing tools we have maintained a high level of productivity and software delivery.
