Job Description The--Science and Enabling Units IT vision is to deliver the best science IT capabilities in pharma, which we define as agile, responsive and fit-for-future. Our goal is to engage with our stakeholders as a strategic partner in delivering life-changing medicines to our patients. This role will be part of a team delivering a 'Best in Class' IT experience for Business Development (M&A) activities at AZ with a strong IT focus on R&D, and Scientific activities. The IT Business Relationship Manager will develop relationships within Business Development, Global Medicines Development (GMD), Innovative Medicines & Early Clinical Development (IMED) organization, and with MedImmune (MedI). The--post holder--will partner with them in achieving and exceeding business objectives with M&A deals including Acquisitions, Divestments, and Collaborations. You will drive the delivery of business solutions to create maximum competitive advantage. The role combines in-depth understanding of AstraZeneca, business area strategy and domain knowledge of our end to end value chain from R&D (collectively: GMD, Medi and IMED) functions, through to Commercialization, along with and relevant technical expertise to drive 'Best in Class' IT M&A, and Alliance activity. This role requires a hybrid set of technical, business domain, and leadership skills. You are expected to perform as a leader-doer with the ability to inspire and motivate an agile and diverse team of professionals in a complex matrix organization and on occasion lead a cross functional project team. This role is a mix of delivering 'Best in Class' IT and building a relationship of trust with our stakeholders, anchored by strong technical and domain expertise and continuous learning and development. Focusing on R&D activities across a range of deals/projects, you will work with business units in Business Development, Alliance & Integration, GMD, IMED, and, MedI, partnering with other IT functions such as Infrastructure and Operations IT. In this role, you will also work collaboratively with other BRMs and BAs in Science & Enabling Units IT, and be part of a team of R&D M&A IT experts. You will be expected to develop and leverage relationships with strategic external partners and a global IT matrix of people across the US, UK, Sweden, Poland, Guadalajara and India. All M&A IT business engagement team members are expected to develop domain and technical expertise across all Science & Enabling Units IT domains and take on special/opportunistic projects outside of his/her core domain. The core accountabilities of the role include: Building strong strategic relationships with complex customer groups and senior stakeholders, developing a deep understanding of the short-term and long-term business direction. Developing and maintaining the stakeholder management plan, conducting continuous stakeholder analysis, and working cross-functionally to align on strategy and plans. Leading an IT M&A project with potential to lead x-functional IT teams Building strong strategic relationships with large and complex customer groups, developing deep understanding of M&A business strategy, future direction, projects and needs, leading key engagement initiatives to deliver against demand. Developing performance metrics and customer scorecards to define and monitor delivery of value; diligence in completion and adherence to scorecard reporting. Facilitating accurate IT demand forecasting, planning, and delivery collaboratively with other supporting IT team roles. On occasion lead high-level investigations on functional and technical requirements specifications and feasibility studies and advise on practical alternatives. And, translate requirements into design specifications, determine testing levels and manage testing in line with AZIT methodologies, processes and standards, ensuring that requirements are effectively met, tested and implemented. Partnering with key stakeholders on the development of detailed business cases for new IT solutions Proactively identifying opportunities for IT to deliver innovative technology solutions to provide competitive advantage Works collaboratively with: Multiple Business and Deal Team leaders (focus on R&D) Head IT, M&A, and Lead Senior BRM (M&A IT, R&D) and full x-functional M&A IT Team Science & Enabling Unis IT Leadership Team IT Strategy, Architecture, Portfolio Management and Project/Programme Management to agree the future shape of proposed solutions and initiate projects in partnership Other stakeholder area Business Relationship Managers to create alignment and identify cross-functional collaboration and/or innovation opportunities Business Analysts (BA) to define detailed requirements, conduct business analysis, and build business cases Portfolio Managers and solution delivery leads to initiate projects, clearly define scope and monitor the delivery of project value compared to the promised benefits Service Management teams to ensure the IT services plans are established for the customer group, actively monitored, and effectively managed in line with established service levels Qualifications You will have extensive experience and knowledge of the--pharma industry, with proven ability to deliver strong results, and implementation track record in R&D. You will have proven experience in M&A IT, Alliance & Integration IT projects or Pharma IT projects, coupled with a deep knowledge and understanding of the scientific domains, with extensive knowledge of scientific and/or clinical pharma processes. You will need to be experienced in--building high value business cases & mobilising high value investments with substantial experience in managing and delivering business change through IT projects and delivering results. You will be comfortable working in a matrix organisation across multiple domains and with ambiguity, with good judgement and can "get stuff done" without an overreliance on process, with strong influencing, networking and team working skills Proficiency in planning, change management and problem solving and able to resolve issues of a highly complex and strategic nature A proven--ability to manage negotiations, expectations and solutions across complex groups and to interpret and communicate technical and scientific information. A self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, resilience The ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
