This new and exciting position is an opportunity to establish and optimize our next generation IT environment and operations. This individual will work directly with the business, leaders in Information Technology (IT) and continue the development & support of our IT Operations function. The Voyager IT team provides a broad range of services and support to the organization including networking, deskside technologies, corporate security and data access/governance.The Associate Director, IT Operations will be a proven leader in Cloud Engineering & Security and be able to design, advise and implement at a high level, leading and advising IT design and concepts, and develop a comprehensive strategy and network architecture in collaboration with our external MSP. This experienced leader will be a team oriented, collaborative expert who will manage and grow the Voyager IT infrastructure and staff, as well as oversee 3rd party service providers on day-to-day operational work as well as project-based initiatives.Responsibilities* Serve as a technical hands-on expert/mentor to the IT operations team.* Primary relationship manager of Voyager's Managed Service Provider.* Provide primary advanced technical support and guidance for the company as it pertains to Cloud First Network Engineering.* Develop strong working relationships with various leadership teams across business and IT to identify, prioritize work (including problem resolution and project planning/execution).* Review existing network infrastructure and work with leadership to develop a roadmap of best practices and suggestions.* Track, manage, communicate, and complete assigned projects on time and within budget.* Contribute and oversee the operations and maintenance of IT infrastructure including virtualization environment (VMware), storage, email, file, multiplatform servers, computerized laboratory equipment, security and network infrastructure, backup and archival systems, disaster recovery and Internet connectivity.* Responsible for network and server operations, system availability, and management of MSP Help Desk.* Responsible for IT processes and policies fulfilment, end user communications and help documentation, fulfilment of regulatory compliance and change control.* Administration of MS Active Directory, MS server's infrastructure (On-Prem/Azure), GPOs, NPS and variety of MS Domain services.* Management and administration of cloud-based applications.Minimum Qualifications* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent degree) in computer science, information technology, or related technical field* A minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology with 7+ years of proven people management experience in a support organization* Advanced degree (MS, PhD, etc.) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline preferred* Microsoft certification(s) preferred (MCSE/MCSA/MCP)* Experience supporting GXP and non-GXP networking systems* Cisco Meraki networking hardware/software* Experience managing a blended resource model that includes employees, managed services partners and on demand resources to deliver excellent customer service* Experience with wireless networking fundamentals including site survey activities, high density planning/troubleshooting, and roaming ( 802.11a/b/g/n/ac , WPA2, 802.1x , EAP, 802.11r , PMK, OKC, 802.11e/WMM , BYOD)* Experienced knowledge in full stack networking, wireless site surveys, large campus network design, network security strategies, capacity planning, and common networking deployment challenges* Experience implementing voice/video in a real-world multi-site environment preferred.* Familiarity with UTM/security features and functionality (IDS/IPS, dynamic VPN's, content preferred.* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with a proactive and agile approach to communication, coordination and escalation management* This position may require travel on an as-needed basis between Voyager's Cambridge, MA and Lexington, MA locationsRECRUITING & STAFFING AGENCIES: Voyager Therapeutics does not accept unsolicited resumes from any source other than candidates.
