Who We Are: Harvard Business School (HBS) Human Resources provides a full range of talent management support for the 1,200+ administrative and research staff here. People are the foundation of the success of Harvard Business School. Our Human Resources team is committed to attracting and developing staff members who will contribute to the high-quality programs and resources of the School.

You will be part of the Talent Acquisition team who ensures we have the skills and technical capabilities needed for today and tomorrow. We hire over 250 new team members annually across a variety of specialties from entry level to senior management. You will report to the Senior Consultant - Talent Acquisition and your direct teammates include our Senior Talent Acquisition Manager, Talent Acquisition Manager and a Recruitment Coordinator. The Talent Acquisition team is a part of a close-knit, supportive Human Resources team. Our HR team operates on a hybrid schedule (3 days a week onsite at our campus in Allston, MA).

What You Will Do: The Sr. Recruiter knows how to successfully attract and hire the strongest talent while providing a world-class candidate experience. This role looks forward to bringing that expertise to each search and genuinely enjoys building rapport and strong working relationships with hiring managers, HR Partners, and other key stakeholders.

At its core, this role is seen as the "go-to" person for non-exempt and select exempt level recruitment searches across a variety of our departments and lines of business. This person is also keen on sourcing and identifying new passive candidate leads for their roles and actively works to better cultivate diversity in our candidate pools. This role will also act as a back-up resource for the other members of the team and help support other recruitment, onboarding, and coordination efforts as necessary.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Seek out highly qualified talent through a variety of sourcing strategies for passive candidates, referrals, and previous candidates.
  • Be the point of contact for all candidate engagement and correspondence.
  • Create a positive candidate experience (for both internal and external candidates) throughout the recruiting process with proactive communication, and high touch customer service;
  • Cultivate a diverse candidate slate for every search you are working on
  • Establish and maintain close working relationship with HBS HR Consultants including proactive and timely communication ensuing an understanding of current and future workforce planning, open roles, and business needs
  • Be the steward of our recruitment and hiring process.
  • Provide comprehensive support and consultation to hiring managers on all aspects of this process:
    • Advise on talent attraction strategies, coaching and guidance on best practices, and sourcing trends
    • Coach and advise hiring managers on interviewing techniques and legal issues regarding hiring practices
    • Ensure that recruitment plans demonstrate measurable commitment to diversity and support HBS diversity recruitment goals
    • Provide training to hiring managers, search committees, and stakeholders as needed.
    • Offer management and onboarding, communicate timelines to hiring managers, work with Coordinator to ensure reference checks and background checks are completed and manage Applicant Tracking System workflows in real time.Basic Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
      • Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience Additional Qualifications and SkillsAdditional Required Qualifications:
        • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
        • A minimum of 3 years of experience in talent acquisition or a combination of talent acquisition and administrative, coordination, or other related support experience is required
        • Education beyond High School may be considered towards experience
        • Working knowledge of using applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office (including Word and Outlook) as well as systems like Slack, Zoom, or MS Teams is requiredAdditional Qualifications:
          • You prioritize and complete a high level of time sensitive transactions through to completion, provide excellent follow through, & manage multiple searches
          • Proven commitment to all aspects of recruiting with the highest levels of customer service essential.
          • Proactive style with keen interest in finding best fit for every role
          • Experience building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers through partnering, advising, accountability, and delivering results.
          • A demonstrated ability to effectively work with a variety of different teams is essential
          • Details are your thing; you are on top of logistics, data quality, communications, and scheduling (even when it gets tricky)
          • Thrive in a high-need-to-know environment where transparency is strongly valued, but also understand and use discretion when working with confidential and sensitive information
          • Exhilarated rather than frustrated when navigating through ambiguity
          • Committed to working on a hybrid collaborative team
          • Demonstrated understanding of OFCCP compliance requirements and regulations is helpful Interest in pursuing Talent Acquisition and/or HR as a long-term career path is preferableAdditional Responsibilities Include:
            • Identify and engage with qualified passive candidate leads from a variety of channels
            • Work with Sr. Consultant and HRIS to create and utilize data-driven analytics in advising hiring leaders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting
            • May collaborate and assist with planning, organizing, and implementing outreach efforts (college recruitment, diversity recruitment etc.); represent the University at recruiting events
            • Keep up to date on latest market trends, research, and tools/technologies to help HBS increase representation in our staff positions
            • Cultivate good faith efforts and report on return on investment in support of our Affirmative Action goals
            • Maintain strong partnerships with department leaders and hiring managers to ensure a deep understanding of their business needs to support talent matching
            • Participate in Campus-wide activities and stay current on HBS communications to remain an informed "seller" to potential candidates.
            • Ensure compliance with and deep working knowledge of Harvard University policies (including benefits), state and federal laws relating to recruitment and hiring.
            • Act as a back-up resource for HR and Talent Acquisition team (i.e. manage additional recruitment searches, onboarding efforts, offer management, system management, etc.)
            • Responsible for other duties as assigned Additional InformationThis position is approved for a 1-year term (with possibility of renewal/extension) which begins on the person's first day of employment.

              This role is offered as a hybrid (some combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Boston, MA based campus 3 days per week. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.
