Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Human Resources will be a key member of a
dynamic HR team. You are a HR professional who values human
connection, is technologically adept, embraces big challenges and

technology acumen and generalist experience to partner with one or
more functional areas, enhance our HR solutions, run our benefits
and compensation processes, and ensure compliance to drive
excellence across our organization. Key ResponsibilitiesIntegrating
with our innovative HR department, this individual will be
responsible for managing Human Resources processes including
benefits and leave management, non-executive compensation;
compliance and administration of Syros' HRIS and other HR
technology solutions. They should integrate with a high expectation
for integrity, ensuring decisions reflect values and commitment of
the Company.As an HR Business Partner, rely on your generalist
experience and your employee relations skills to build
relationships while supporting your functional areas.
- Become familiar with the organizational structure and
individual nuances of the team
- Effectively communicate organizational change and anticipate
future needs
- With functional leadership propose and/or implement solutions
for development and interpersonal concerns
- Introduce tools and programs to empower employees to do their
best workWork alongside the Associate Director, HR (Talent,
Learning and Development) on several initiatives.
- Build compelling offers for incoming Syrosians
- Support annual business planning and make recommendations for
improvements
- Review and administer Syros' compensation program to include
bonus programs and pay equity; make recommendations to the
leadership that improve the Company's compensation policies,
procedures and practicesCompensation & Benefits
- Participate in and review annual benchmarking surveys and
industry studies to ensure equitable and competitive pay
practices
- Conduct semi-annual pay alignment analysis
- Prepare background reports for Board Compensation Committee
Meetings
- Manage employee benefits programs such as medical, dental,
vision plans; 401(k) plan; life insurance plans; leave and
disability programs; and wellness program
- Ensure Syros benefits remain competitive by benchmarking
Company benefits with market
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and other administrative
agencies outside the company to effect approved changes in benefits
programs. Ensure prompt and accurate compliance.
- Prepare, with legal consultation, benefits documentation, such
as original and amended plan documents, benefit agreements and
insurance policies
- Coordinate and administer leave policies to ensure
complianceReporting & Compliance
- Develop, communicate, and enforce controls and procedures to
ensure Syros' compliance with applicable laws and regulations,
including: Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the
Affordable Care Act. Prepare/review prepared reports and filings
required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such
as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance
commissioners, and other regulatory agencies
- Develop reporting and/or dashboards that deliver meaningful
analytics to the HR team and key business stakeholders to
effectively evaluate organizational key metrics, including
leadership, DE&I committee leadership, auditors, etc.
- Lead the annual review and update of Syros' employee handbookHR
Systems
- Ensure HR technology platforms are being used in a manner that
drives value
- Act as lead contact and administrator for Syros Human Resources
Information System (HRIS)
- Maintain HR content on Syros intranet (SharePoint based)
- Responsible for managing HR Systems budget
- Propose and project manage roll-out of new components to HRIS,
career pathways software and intranetSuccess Factors

Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in the HR discipline as a
generalist, with a minimum of 2 years in Compensation
- Prior experience supporting regulatory requirements in a public
life sciences company
- Emotionally intelligent with the ability to maintain balanced
emotions in all situations
- Adaptable, flexible and willing to be open minded to
alternative options/ideas
- Comfortable moving between tactile and hands-on work with
project management responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proven track record of successful system implementation with
organizational adoption
- Technical agility and experience with multiple platforms
including ADP WorkforceNow; SharePoint; E*TradeFinally, the
